It's actually because they get a lot more notoriety, money, and fame where they're basically invisible in the US. Sweden doesn't pay for gold. US pays $37k. However, sponsorship and indirect money is a lot more abundant there because they don't have much else in athletics to celebrate.

She's pretty obviously, but looks so hollow and lifeless in her picture. She expresses 0 emotion and is just too cool to look directly at the camera. 90% of her pics are just looking like a lifeless storefront doll turned to a 45 degree angle from the camera.
