ESPN Addresses What Will Happen To The ‘SEC on CBS’ Theme Song
Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports
After ESPN and the SEC announced a new television partnership on Thursday, concerns turned to the important details, like the fate of the "SEC on CBS" theme song...
quote:

“I think this has come up on every interview,” Magnus said during today’s teleconference. “Again, I have tremendous respect for CBS. The coverage they’ve provided the conference for so many years has been outstanding. That theme music is part of it. I’m as big a college football fan as anybody. I enjoy it the same way other fans do. It’s iconic. I’m not in the music business. I don’t even know, like, what’s possible necessarily or who owns it.

“I do understand the special place it holds among SEC fans. Who knows. I’m quite confident we’ll come up with a really awesome, innovative presentation of the highest caliber and the highest quality for the SEC on our networks, including ABC.”

The theme isn’t exclusive to the SEC on CBS. I was watching the USM/FAU fame on the CBS Sports network the other night and they played the theme.

Disney is slowly firing everyone. Surprised if anyone is left in 2024.

That song was with the NFL looooong before anyone outside the SE cared about SEC football. I suspect they may move it back to their NFL broadcasts. Regardless I hope it's not shelved permanently.

Disney ruins everything. I hope this TV contract bankrupts ESPN.

It will be a BLM, progressive, non-binary, LGBTSQWER approved song, which represents the diverse racial, ethnic, economic and social justice issues which viewers in SEC territory struggle with on a daily basis.

Absolutely, with a small lecture at the end about how the phrase "SEC" is racist.

Idk... maybe ESPN should buy the rights to make something good come out of this for us fans. Bc ESPN+ taking multiple game slots is gonna be a garbage deal on our end.

Maybe they can hire Jamie Erdahl. She did a pretty good job the other night considering she was put on the spot.

Jamie Erdahl was like Monty in Major League 2. "Fly ball........caught."
