Trent Dilfer Claims An SEC Football Night Game Is A Better Atmosphere Than The Super Bowl

Seen a bunch old Cowboy games, 3 Super Bowls and many events. There is nothing that compares to a big SEC game st LSU Bama Etc.
Remember going to Tuscaloosa when Tigers won on FG in 2011. Friend I went with said I’d a 4 or 5 star kids doesn’t choose Tide Tigers etc they don’t want to compete

He's right ya know. Thing is, what he is seeing is nothing compared to something like Alabama rolling into Tiger Stadium.

I would reckon you could say the same about a big, Big 10 or a Big ACC game. NFL environments suck.

An SEC day game between rivals or ranked opponents is more exciting than the super bowl. But it's really comparing apples and oranges. Most people that go to the super bowl don't care about the game. The opposite is true for college football.

So what SEC job is he angling for?

Gilfer smiling and acting like he didn't forget to scout defensive talent and hire well. Nobody should be excited taking this UAB team in to play #1. He should be pretty embarrassed right now.

He's correct. The Super Bowl quit being about the fans of the two participating teams decades ago. It's merely a vehicle for the NFL to pay off its corporate partners and celebrities/socialites to see and be seen.
