Nick Saban Comments On Georgia Firing Mark Richt
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has faced Mark Richt six times over the years, including two times in the SEC championship game. On Sunday he showed support for Richt after hearing about Georgia firing him...
quote:

“I don’t know what the world is coming to in our profession. Mark Richt has been a really good coach and a really positive person in our profession for a long, long time. I think when you win nine games that’s a pretty good season, especially with the body of work he has been able to put together there.”

He would have been gone from Alabama in 2007 just like Shula was who was fired one year out from a 10-2 season....

9 wins in Tuscaloosa on a consistent basis would go over like poop in a pool. It wouldn't go over well for one season, much less consistently.

So it's terrible to fire an underachieving who has made millions of dollars from the University and will continue to do so, but it's ok to process a 19 year kid because he wasn't good enough under the guise of a phony injury? saban gonna saban but at least he's consistent in his utter bs.

well-he is part of the reason coaches are being fired or threatened....However, he is paid to win games so it's not his fault at all!!!

Why is calling 9 wins a good season hilarious? Apparently everyone thinks it is in Baton Rouge or else Les would be gone.

He could have said something along the lines of "This profession isn't easy, and when excellence is expected and not achieved then it's understandable that changes be made. I wish Mark the best."

Saban calling 9 wins a good season is hilarious.

Maybe Saban remembers that just three years ago he was a tipped pass away from losing his NC to Mark Richt.

If Alabama had the same results UGA has had, Saban would've been run out of town by 2010.

Nick Saban is such a tool. If he loves him some Richt so much, maybe he shouldn't have tried to beat him. ????

Yeah 9 wins for LSU is a great season for Alabama, that usually means LSU lost three games in the SEC. Plus Nick dont want his chicken roost hen pecked.
