While on JJ Redick's "The Old Man and the Three" podcast, Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons opened up about his struggle with mental health...
quote:

"I was in such a bad place where I was like, f---, I'm trying to get here and you guys are, like, throwing all these other things at me to where you're not helping. And that's all I wanted, was help," Simmons said when talking about his time in Philly.
That's when he called out Shaquille O'Neal... (The Spun)

I wish Ben Simmons had never come to LSU.

Victim mindset by Simmons. Shaq will ride any day with a man who will work hard. He did not “call out” Shaq at all - he just revealed his lack of character.

Wow is Ben soft… complaining that Shaquille O’Neil never reached out to him…whaaaa… can we just omit Ben went to LSU on his Bio… By far the most loathsome athlete that ever went to LSU

This sounded like some shite a high school girl would say about her “former best friend”

Simmons acted so arrogant...why would Shaq reach out?

Learn your lessons as you see fit young guy...

Shaq called him out because he cared...

When you think you peaked in high school, quit in college, and realize you aren't cut out for the pros, dating a Kardashian is never the answer. They have ruined more athletic careers than ACL tears.

I have nothing but respect for Shaq. Ben Simmons, not so much.
He quit on his LSU team, never gave Philly his all.

First of all, Ben Simmons is a spoiled child. Once he got into the real world and his sister and mother wasn't there to take care of everything for him he acted like a brat. And Shaq said what someone should have told him a long time ago. And he needs to check Shaq's resume. Shaq doesn't have to reach out to him, he has to reach out to Shaq. To Shaq, he is just another player in the NBA. Everything with Ben is all about Ben.

Two guys cut from two totally separate cloths... And news flash Ben, you are not part of the LSU family. You have to put something into it to be accepted.

Needed help with what exactly? You either want to put in the work to be great or don’t. Nobody is going to be hold your hand and baby you like they did in HS and college. Success is earned not given. This kids counties to prove he’s nothing but a self entitled spoiled brat.

Wasn't his LSU "career" a stepping stone he didn't even want to take?

Pretty sure he admitted that his college career was just a farce anyway.

Yes. Then when he left LSU he made a point of letting everyone know he threw all his LSU gear out in the trash. Ben was at LSU for one year and he did not respect it or want to be here. So, bye.

Too many people these days expect everyone around them to be their shrink. No one has the time, energy, or emotional strength to deal with other people's made up problems.
