Idea from TnD-

Should UGA fans start the FSU/Braves chop to open the second half of WLOCP to honor the Braves and piss off the Florida fans?

Fried's deliveries and they were tipping their pitches.

I fully believe they had the drop on Fried with something in his delivery.

They had 8 hits against him in his 1st start and then obviously chased him hard in his 2nd. I know guys have bad games, but it seemed like they were very comfortable with their approach while he was out there.

Highly anecdotal, but TV shots from the dugout Game 5 vs. Game 6 sorta came across that way. Game 5 the Dodgers were smiling and hucking it up while on offense, even before they grabbed the lead. Game 6 was much more somber and a "focused" appearance from the Dodgers, as if they knew they didn't have a tip to work off of.

It's tough because the Braves were counting on 5-6 innings per start out of Morton. Minter had to cover his early innings yesterday and now won't be available again until Friday. Also, Morton is a World Series assassin and a proven big game pitcher.

With Morton out tonights game with Fried almost feels like a must win- and even 2-0 it still feels like we have a razor thin margin. I just don't see a route to victory in a 7 game slugfest.

All that said, I'm done doubting this Braves team. They shoulda quit a long time ago. To borrow a line from Joctober- they just might be those motherphuckers!

Buster Olney tweeted this during Game 6 of the NLCS last year:

Staffer with another team is convinced the Dodgers have picked up something in Fried's delivery that tips off when he's throwing his curveball.

I think I saw someone else on Twitter talking about how this might be a thing that's been going on with the Dodgers and Fried going back to last year.

I'll try to find it, but the stats I saw strongly supported that scout's opinion.

I always kinda wondered if that had anything to do with him getting lit up in G5 of the 2019 series against STL as well.

If it's true, the Braves need to figure it out in a hurry.

I just don't know how obvious it can be if Fried can be our ace against most every other team, but then the Dodgers have the drop on him.

Seems like something the organization would catch, if not Fried himself from film work.

It has to be the subtlest of hints considering how much film, technology, and analytics they all draw upon to help build the perfect pitch arsenal with arm angles/slots, etc.

I don't think so. He came into that game with 1 out in the first inning trailing 6-0 or so. That was just a bad all around day.

I think it's just a thing with him and the Dodgers.

Makes sense.

Fair. Couldn't recall who actually started that one, just remembered he was part of the crew that got wrecked. Was a bad day and have tried blocking the experience of being there from my memory.

Buddy from work tried talking me into buying tickets right before the game, but luckily I convinced him to go to Mr. C's in Atlanta with me.

Was far easier watching that shite pumping while blasted drunk with the weirdos there.

Cutaway music today is definitely different. It has been Rolling Stones followed by some testo-rock.

The Astros were squaring up Fried early just like LA was, but I gotta tip my cap to Max tonight. He put those first few innings behind him and has found his stride. Looks like a completely different pitcher the last few innings.

This has been a brutal watch tonight

When your offense is being run through Travis D., the odds of getting something going are low.

And I’m fully on team, Fried was tipping tonight, I’m too inebriated to fully construct this thought right now, but someone on Twitter has found his tip

Yeah, tough game. Houston’s pitching has been dominant. They have kept Atlanta’s bats off-balance all night.

This is the version of Houston I expected to see (game 1 came as a surprise to me). We can play with these guys but not if we give up 5-6-7 runs a game. This one may not be over yet but it felt like it was over in the 2nd inning.

I’d be very interested to read up on this topic of Fried tipping his pitches. Seems very plausible because even in his good innings, none of the hitters appear to be fooled by anything.

The one that was posted earlier said that he did that glove flutter only when he threw his curveball. It makes sense, because he stopped doing it in the 3rd inning and they didn't really touch him after that.
