Richt remains. Even if we lose every game left.

I wouldn't think he ever leaves Duke..he has a pretty bad ticker, isn't young, and they love him there.

Cutcliffe, while "only" 60, has had health problems in the past and I would be surprised if he coaches past 5 more years. He has a very comfortable position at Duke and he's rebuffed Tennessee in the past; I highly doubt he leaves right now.

You might be right but he's only 6 years older than CMR and would maybe want a shot to get back to the major leagues

Biggest mistake many teams make in looking for the "next coach" is looking for a young asst or HC "on the rise" ie Dooley and Muschamp

I know people on the "inside" that when Richt retires in the next 3 years.. Kirby would be the choice. I am willing to bet my life savings on it.

Cutcliffe is one of the most underrated coaches there is in my opinion. Go back and look at the years Fulmer owned us vs the ones he didn't. What he has done with Duke is unbelievable.

That being said, he won't leave because of the heart issues that have already been mentioned. And as good of a coach as he is, he's not good enough to try and just get 3 years out of.

And and people saying we just offer Kirby the HC job whenever Richt retires. I don't have any sources or anything but I don't see it happening. And it won't bother me a bit when it doesn't hapoen.

Highly doubtful. A little old to start over and seems to like Duke. Turned down Tennessee a couple years ago I believe also. Good coach though.

Cutcliffe is done with the SEC after being run out on a rail from Ole Miss for doing nothing more than being successful. Then to know he was replaced by a guy like "Hulk" Oregeron?! No way Cutcliffe would want back in to the conference when he has a retirement plan in place at Duke by just being a moderate success in Durham.

Cut is a good coach that won a NC at UT in 98 but has had health problems and would need a clean bill of health before a contract. Also he may be gun shy after the Ole Mess episode. If ASU beats Notre Dame tonight and they get into the playoff, I will be on the Todd Graham bus. Yea, he's an arse like Petrino but he wins and could maybe win a NC at UGA. I kinda like Hugh Freeze also. Great recruiter will fire and very few stay at Ole Mess long. Another one could be Mark Hudspeth at ULL, see link LINK

I would want UGA to mail a blank check to Mark Dantonio. Health issues or not, he took a flaky MSU program left in the abyss by John Lol Smith and turned them into the best program in the B1G.

I agree with this, forgot about him. Some say he may take over at USCjr when the Old Ballsack retires. Alumni and he knows The Sack. Other crazy shamecocks swear that Medium Game Bob from Choklahoma is coming. My favorite would be that the Jim Harbaugh and San Fran organization not seeing eye to eye rumor is true. I would send him a blank check. He turned Stanford into a power and almost won a Super Bowl. He could win a NC at UGA. He's a Meechigan alumn and they may send him the blank check.

I would totally be behind a Dantonio hire. I long for the days of Defense-centric SEC football to return.

Dantonio is not making a lateral move to UGA... he is also being paid $4M which is higher than CMR's salary
