Help me here, is alcohol disallowed on the beach now, period? Or just the massive underage party? If a gathering of 21+ year olds want to go out there and drink I'm wondering if they'll be turned away.

Much ado about nothing. Basically it's just going to be a big police presence flexing their muscles with under age drinkers and people that litter. Drinking on the beach is stil legal if your are 21.

I knew a couple girls that got caught doing blow on the beach last year by two cops and were let go with the stern "If we see your faces out here again we're taking you in". I am sure they will set the tone early by checking IDs but I have a feeling that once the party is full blown, it will be too crowded for cops to really crack down on all of the underaged drinkers.

Last year was nuts...I saw at least 5 or 6 people straight passed out on the sand in their puke. I'd say half of them were under 21 so not sure that this will really change much.

We stayed in a house just off the beach one year and some neighbors called the cops on us for being loud. The cops ended up being friendly and took us for a ride in the cop car. We went hauled arse down two lane roads and did donuts in the parking lot. It felt very much like Superbad but they didn't let us shoot their weapons.
SSI cops don't care. There's nothing going on there anyway.

I agree. I'm done with frat beach now so I don't care at all. Will be fun to tell people about how awesome it was in my day.
