What if this is the conduit to a new football-world order?

The end of conferences, one big global conference where everyone plays whoever they want, whenever they want, no more warlike rivalries, and everyone shares everyone else's revenue?

Conferences like the SEC and Big 10 that are awash in money won’t go for that to lose money to the other conferences thankfully. If Cali doesn’t want to open and play football (or do lots of other really basic activities) then don’t let them have the revenue from it.

It won't be up the SEC and Big 10.

"Normally, there's an agreed-upon start date for every sport, every season," Emmert told ESPN, "but under these circumstances, now that's all been derailed by the pandemic. It won't be the conferences that can do that either. It will be the local and state health officials that say whether or not you can open and play football with fans.

Florida for example will be in phase 2 soon and in phase 2, sporting events can take place with 50% capacity. They can already take place without attendance currently.

So I agree it won’t be up to the SEC or Big 10 but SEC states for the most part are reopening and by fall should be in position to have sports in some capacity and they won’t care what the west coast is going when they make that decision.

I don't think you are picking up what I'm putting down.

I hate it but I agree with you. All its gonna take is one or two players to get sick then you HAVE to shut down the team for 14 days. And you know it's gonna happen.

50% capacity makes no sense to me. Either we have to stay 6 feet apart or we don’t. Which is it? Every other seat in a stadium is not six feet apart.

Families and or a husband and wife don't need to be 6 feet apart.

My bad dude for not getting back with you. No, it was cancelled; I should have known better in the first place, I guess. We play in an organization know as KB Sports. Probably below the level of competition you play in. It’s really our only opportunity where I am located.

If we can have large scale protests and political rallies, we can have football games with fans. Just temperature checks on the way in, mandatory masks, and hand out those travel size containers of hand sanitizer to everyone. Old folks can opt to stay home.

The only downside is that the masks might muffle the crowd noise.

On page 1 I told y'all we were headed for conf. Only season.

That was over two months ago. Could have saved you fellers a lot of back and forth.

I will accept up votes here as an apology.

Flag planted 2 months ago... Not that it was super "out there", but you certainly weren't hedging.

Have a downvote...

I thought this was a pretty good article. The Ohio St AD is pretty candid with his statements about his doubts on football this fall. I think the conference only option is the first domino to fall but hope I am wrong.

No way in hell. There will be no fun and games until orange man is out of the WH. The left and all of their eager virtue signaling corporate underlings wont allow it
