What game worries you most this season?

For me? Tuscaloosa doesn’t bother me. What’s keeping me up at night? Going to Williams-Brice late in the season.

UGA has shown they have issues with Bama. At Bamaville, they will probably be the underdog. The OU game could be tough, as well as the UF game. Not sure what to think about Auburn. Mizzou usually plays UGA pretty close. And, of course there's Brent Key and yech.
Dawgs have struggled in most of their SEC games the last 2 seasons. For that to change, they will need to have to play better in the first half of those games.

Oxford.
Carolina blows and bama has a bit of a hex on us still but OM has the best QB in America and probably a top 3 rb too. They beat us in our last game and they destroyed us our last trip there.
Note: I'm not "scared" of the environment bc it's pretty tame tbh and I'll be there in person as I have been every meeting post 2001. But that's the game we're most likely to lose this year and honestly I'll be a bit surprised if we win. I wouldn't be surprised to beat bama or Carolina.
As a parting thought I think Missouri is a sneaky tough game that we better be ready for or we could be in trouble.

Lacy coming back is an underrated part of that team. That dude is a problem.
Ole miss definitely number one but I think Oklahoma will be tough too. It's at home at least but I could see venables giving Gunner a hard time with his aggressive style. Mateer being healthy worries me too.

Can't decide. I don't even think Bama will be all that good this year and hopefully all the demons are exorsised after the SECCG, but we still haven't beat Bama in the regular season in almost 20 years and maybe there's still some bad mojo.
South Carolina is concerning because Beamer can rally the team for the big games that their fanbase wants to win really bad, regardless of how shitty they are or what their record is. They also have Sellers and the top edge rusher in the next NFL draft.
Oklahoma's defense seems like the kind that could give Gunner problems, and they'll probably have a good plan. And maybe Mateer's hand really was bothering him later in the season and he doesn't actually suck. But we've only lost 1 game at home in the last 8 years. Teams who play Georgia close in Sanford Stadium inevitaby get suffocated in the 4th quarter.
Ole Miss has a new offensive coaching staff. The new OC came from East Carolina. And also it will be a revenge game for us. But maybe Chambliss really does have our number, and Kirby is 0-2 in Oxford and neither game was close, even though the first one was in Kirby's first season.
One way or the other this looks like the best schedule we've had in a while. Only have to leave the state of Georgia 3 times in the regular season. One of the quarterfinal games is the Peach Bowl. So in a perfect world we'd play 16 games this season and only have to leave the state of Georgia 5 times. That would be spectacular.

Yea, I would imagine this is WG Dawg's dream schedule. No big time OOC games other than the obligatory GT game, and mostly in the state of GA.
Hopefully, this will work in their favor.

you got that right. Things are hard enough, why make them harder? Ideally we'd replace Bama/OM with MSU/UK but hey we can't always get everything we want.

There has been so many changes in coaches and rosters that it’s impossible to figure out what’s going to happen with these teams, or us frankly.

We haven't beat Bama in Tuscaloosa since 2007 and haven't beat Ole Miss in Oxford since 2011. Those places have some juju going against us.

while this is factually true it's sliiiiiightly misleading.
-Right off the bat, we simply don't play at those places very often.
-With bama, they have been a practically unstoppable juggernaut since 2008 so it's not really surprising we've rarely beaten them. For the vast majority of the time they've simply been much better. The only times we've played there since our last win were 2020 (they had one of the best teams of all time) and 2024 which came down to the final play.
-same with bama we have only played in oxford twice since our last win. The first was kirby's first year when we sucked. The next was 2024 which was legit one of the worst performances I've seen us play this century. Give OM credit on this one.
So yeah, it's been a while, but it's not like it's an AU or a tech where we are playign there eveyr other year and just can't seem to win. As crazy as it sounds, I actually give us better odds to win in tuscaloosa this year than I woudl in oxford.

The 2001 game at Ole Miss was a good one. The best running games I can ever remember Georgia having was the last month or so of 2001, which is random, because it came out of nowhere and we weren't even good that season. O line nad JT Wall made Verron Haynes and Bruce Thornton of all people look like Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams.

extremely random. In the AU game Musa got most of the carries as I think Jasper Sanks was dinged up. We knew going into Oxford HAynes was going to have to get more carries than usual but he ran for almost 200 yards. The next wek against tech he was even better going over 200. Really came out of absolute nowhere especially considering he was really more of a fullback.
Reminds me of the end of the 2000 season when Quincy went out for good and Corey Philips kept throwing for 400 like it was nothing

The Oklahoma game will be big. We show up after mopping the floor with a few nobodies so we will NOT be tested and we're not really going to know what kind of team we have.
If Oky takes down Michigan in game 2 They're going to be in the top 5 and have a mountain of momentum. We protect our homefield pretty well, but I still think this is the toughest game of the year until we play Texas in the SECCG.

My hope is that it's the first big home game of the season and the crowd gives the team a lot of energy and it's like an avalanche.
Most likely would take a really big game from Mateer. Every game we've lost since 2019 with the exception of Notre Dame, the other team's quarterback had to play his arse off and it felt like he couldn't miss. Will be interesting to see if Mateer's hand really was bothering him last season, or if he just sort of sucks.
