We were also near the bottom of spending in football prior to hiring Kirby. If you assume we may need to pay 3-3.5M for a "good" coach, it would bump us to 8M ish from where we were which is good enough for about middle of the pack... With any increased spending to accompany that, could easily approach the 9M mark which is about on par with a good chunk of the competitive teams in the league...

WG and Branch are right....

I cut my teeth on dawg bball during my four years as a student from 93-97. My best bud was a manager for the team and had all of us hooked, god rest his soul.

I've seen with my own eyes what the right coaching staff can do for a program from Durham to Tubby. Same facilities, same spending from Buttsmehre.

AGAIN....the building ain't the problem.

Fair point, if we are willing to spend to compete, then I’m in... if not, Fox is a ou as good as we will get unless we get a Tubby and if we don’t spend then, he will leave for UK too.

Those were great times, but they were not sustainable. Did we do out and get a hot commodity after Tubby? He wasn’t and we sucked again. It’s a different landscape out there now. There aren’t as many Maten’s out there.

The only difference is the coaches. No reason we can't get back there.

UGA could do a lot to make it easier for coaches to succeed here. UGA kind of self-imposes bad odds of a coach working out because of how the program is run administratively.

Big one tonight. A win could extend our season and a loss would eliminate us. I actually think we win because I’m a giant idiot

At least you're being honest with yourself. Go Dawgs!

I am so torn...apart of me wants us to lose out so there is absolutely no question whether Fox is fired and the other side of me of course wants this team to fight like hell, mainly because it is a tragedy that Yante has played on such bad teams. He deserves to be on the big stage in the tourney.

I can't root against the Dawgs in any sport for any reason. Just root that regardless of the outcome the right decision is made.

Won't be updating a ton tonight, but will do my best for the second half.

We had the ball with 1:00 left, and somehow South Carolina scored 6 points while we didn’t score. Worst case they should only get 3 in that scenario.

I’m very confused by the refereeing right now on both ends.
