I agree with you. He has stepped up, but it is NOT a "since Maten went down" like what was commented on.

We still have a legit shot at 5th in the SEC and have a mathematical shot at 4th but we would have to win out and Arkansas lose out.
6th seems to be the most likely finishing position pre-SEC tourney with 18 wins. It will be interesting to see who we will play in the conference tourney.

Playing for NIT seeding at this point.

No no dj... you're missing the point. We're going to be better next year... just watch. Those incoming recruits are going to buck the trend and see the court. Also, we're going to see massive development from Crump who will eat a lot of minutes. Besides that, all the other guys are going to really gel during the offseason this year and play better as a unit. If we just slow things down, next year is really going to be our year to make a dent in the SEC and get into the tournament...
or how about we have the best player in the fricking conference???

There is not a single player returning next year in the conference who is better than Yante Maten.

Just like this year, and we could have also taken it further and said there was not a better duo than the one we returned this year. All that got us was back to back NIT bids and a ton of painful losses.

This may be true, but it doesn't matter because there will be at least 3 Kentucky freshmen better than him

If we win out, which is a legit chance and then win two games in the SEC tourney I think we get in the dance.

Great, now I picture DD22 as Tobey Maguire
Here's DD22 trying to stop the inevitable:

But what's your point? Having 2 of the top guys didn't get us invited 2 years in a row, and one is leaving.

I have no idea why this phrase caught so much flak. We play LSU and Auburn at home, and Arkansas on the road. I mean, I don't think we're going to win out, but I'd probably put it at like a 25-30% chance

Winning out could happen, sure, but we're not making the dance unless we win the SEC tourney

We will do just well enough to miss the NCAA Tourney.
This is known.

Not true at all. They are talking about taking teams with losing records in the dance. We also would have an RPI in the 30s.
