News: Georgia center Trey Hill likely out for Saturday's game, could be out longer, after having knees scoped, a source told The Athletic.

Sophomore Warren Ericson likely steps in for Hill, and true freshman Sedrick Van Pran could also get snaps.

What the hell happened to Clay Webb? Did they move him to guard? Has he just not developed?

Part of the reason he picked us was a chance to play guard

A lot of Freshman OL don’t play and center is hard as hell with all the protections to call and defensive alignments to diagnose.

Probably won't matter much against Vandy.

But why isn’t he getting more reps than Justin Shaffer?

Obviously size isn’t everything because I’ve seen smaller guys whip Schafer but Webb is maybe our smallest scholarship lineman at 6’3” 290. When he came in against USC I was like damn he’s small.

Idk, but if you would like me to replace Matt Luke I'll do an OL update post every Monday and take 1/3 of the money.

He has only worked at guard for some reason.

Been behind Cleveland, shaffer, lindberg, and ericson. I think he has been scout team this season.

I like I formation. So I'm biased.
But i thought he looked great.

I thought he was good too. I’m strictly referring to him being a good bit smaller. But like I said. Size only matters so much. I’ll never forget Boise state’s 5’10” 280 center owning John Jenkins ans kwame Gethers all night

Anyone getting the idea maybe Hill elected to go ahead and get his knees taken care of so he’d be completely healthy for the spring and plans to go to the NFL?

yes. just posted as much in post on the rant. good chance they are related. if he comes back would be due to worse draft grade than he feels he deserves imo.

We’re fine either way. Never loved him. Thought Gaillard was better. Seems like a guy who may benefit from playing guard and just focusing on his assignments rather than the added responsibility of making line calls and making a good snap.

I wonder what he "deserves' (hate that word).

He has first round talent (and probably measurables), but did he have first round production and film? Has he earned it? Another year in the offense with better film might be what's necessary solidify his place in the first round.

That said, I never begrudge kids taking millions of dollars. I'd probably do it.

not so sure.Center is arguably the 2nd most important position on the team and experience at the position is always an advantage. Hill was very good for us in the 2nd half of the season.

Sure, by his 5th year but not close to Hill at the same point in his career.

esponsibility of making line calls and making a good snap.

He resolved his snapping issues and was fine with his calls.

A move to G might do good for his draft stock. Hill hasn't played poorly, but the lack of a more heady guy - a leader at center has hurt the team this season.

The only negative on Hill is high snaps. If it weren't for that he would be a lock for ALL-SEC.
