Playing with the rain that was constant and not have any turnovers is a miracle in itself. I know Ky had one. You can't say enough good things about the Dawgy D.
I kind of agree with Rod Gilmore's analysis, he was the color guy on TV. Last night was not the night to try and discover your passing game.
Is this not the weakest group of wideouts at Georgia in recent memory?

I think this keeps being said, and I struggle to agree. I think it’s the most inexperienced WR group we’ve had in recent memory.

I really just think we underestimated the impact of losing effectively our entire receiving corps in a year. If JJ Holloman hadn't got in trouble, we may even look a lot different.

We have 3 receivers who were in the top 5 at their position coming out of HS

Yeah this is it. I think we looked at the young talent and got caught up in what stock analysts term 'irrational exuberance'.
One of Richt's biggest downfalls was he almost always had at least one unit that was weak and brought the rest of the team down. But I think in this situation Kirby in no way could have planned for the apocalypse in our wr corps.

No, but much less talented WR’s are getting open. Fromm doesn’t have a lot to throw to, and we try a passing play if it doesn’t work it’s back to running it 6-7 times in a row. Teams have essentially dared us to throw the ball. A guy running a 4.5 40 should be able to lean and cut the other way and be open. Especially a 4 and 5* receiver.

That's the allure of potential, though. There's no shortage of high school stars who didn't make it in college, or college stars who didn't make it in the pros. Maybe these guys will demonstrate some real excellence at the college level, maybe they won't, but they clearly aren't right now.

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised considering the production we lost from last year. Mecole, Ridley, Godwin, Nauta, Holloman - cant remember that much of one position group's production being gone in one year. And inexperienced WRs do dumb stuff like run the wrong routes, miss blocks, drop critical balls, etc. All that said, the coaching staff should know all of this as well and come up with game plans that factor for inexperienced receivers.
Also, the two guys that are experienced are likely to see even more targets now I'd guess. Robertson and Cager.
