8 plays, 83 yards, 3:50, 4 passes, 4 runs, only got to 3rd down once, which was a 3rd and 1. Beautifully scripted drive, had Bama on their heels...a true statement was made.

What in the frick happened after that?

3 plays, -3 yards, 1:07, 3 passes

3 plays, 7 yards, 2:07, 3 runs

13 plays, 44 yards, 7:27, 4 passes, 7 runs, a sack and no points

2 plays, 7 yards, :48, 1 pass, 1 run, halftime

I find it very difficult to believe Bama made any sort of drastic adjustments after that first drive. I don't know when Mims went out, but as important as he is, he isn't THAT important.

Seems to me, the scripted drive was a masterpiece but, when left to run things on the fly under immense pressure, Bobo shat the bed. There's simply no other reasonable explanation.

On the game, 29 pass attempts vs. 31 rushes. Beck finished 21/29 (72%!) for 243yds. Those 31 rushes? 78 yards. WHY IN THE frick DID WE NOT TRUST CARSON??????? Bell was only targeted 3 times. Lovett only twice. Smith only twice. These guys are playmakers!

The D held up, imo. 27 points allowed on 306 yards total offense (192 passing, 114 rushing), and sacked Milroe 4 times. That's good enough to win if the offense upholds its end of the bargain.

We should've won that game, boys. I'm at peace with it, but we should've won the damn game.

This is the story of the game.

Turnover on our goal line.
Penalty then doink on a FG.
Missed non catch as a catch.
Amazing shovel pass in face of pressure by Milroe.

Yeah and could be we ng but didn't much counter runs after the first drive. That counter off tackle run is what Milton scored on and has been an explosive play all year.

Could see Carson was frustrated. Should have trusted him more in first half.

Exactly. This is how you lose to a slightly worse team. Bad breaks + bad play in 2-3 key moments led to a 3 point loss.

We can be mad at the missed opportunity or even call out the officials. You can't, however, say we deserved to win. We didn't.

Actually Saban talked about this in his post game interview. Changed to 4 down lineman and went to 2 high safety’s.

Played extremely conservative in the first half. Alabama was slowing down any runs that bounce outside and commited heavily to stopping runs yet we ran on 3rd and two and then we also had a drive where we got inside the 20 and ran it outside on back to back plays and got stuffed on both. Not saying running is a bad thing and it needs to be an option but they were selling out to stop the outside runs and we kept getting killed doing it. Throw in a couple bootlegs and they won't sell out for it as hard but didn't do enough to get them off of the runs.

That said, that's not why we lost the game. The biggest bites were the non catch and the fumble inside the 15. Also, having your best players hobbled most of the year certainly didn't help.

Saban switched to an even front cover 2 after the first drive.

It kept Dallas Turner in the box (mint front allowed us to pull him out with formation)

that false start on the fg. The game could have gone to OT if we made that. The way we have lost to Bama in the SECCG's has been pretty gut wrenching other than 2021 where pretty much got boat raced.

Yeah just saw that too. Makes the run calls more palatable. O line/RB just didn't take advantage. Mims going down obviously changed things too

hat false start on the fg.

55 moved but you can watch games where the line is moving before every play and its never called. He barely flinched and its barely noticeable on video. Was a very tough call.

Much as I hate it, its football.

If OSU hit that FG against us last year, they would have won the Natty. Just the way it goes
