I have seen reports he is in the transfer portal.

He is in the portal which allows him to communicate with other teams. Final decision is yet to be made

There was a post on 247 yesterday quoting an Illinois reporter. If accurate, it sounded like Ford has already made his decision to transfer to Illinois and the details are in talks.

Last I saw he was sick and Kirby let him go home to get well but was expected to return.

If he's choosing Illinois over better options, it confirms he was just homesick. It happens.

I might be wrong, but I thought he was saying that because Ford is homesick and wants to transfer, he’s going to go to the home state school instead of one like Michigan that’s further away.

You guys are the most reactionary bunch of people I've ever seen. I wasn't criticizing Smart. He did the right thing. I was simply making an observation that kids who suffer from being homesick often don't come back.

Our increasing academic prestige is hurting our coed game imo
We're still pulling in some top talent like any other SEC school, but we don't have the quality depth like an Ole Miss or Alabama has in their system.

He was added to the transfer portal prior to Kirby talking with Luke and his dad and them agreeing that Luke would come back for the bowl game.
This doesn’t mean he is going or staying. Have to wait and see.
