I’m less concerned with UK playing for that final TD, and more frustrated that they didn’t call a fumble on the 1st and goal that looked pretty obvious in real time. Then we didn’t even get a review bc of the hurry up on the 2nd down. That seemed beyond suspect.

Well, Stoops is a morbidly obese piece of shite so it isn’t even that much of a stretch.

Don’t care about the TD, bitch move calling a time out with 7 seconds.

They spent 11 minutes and 100 plays to score that TD.
Of course they were calling time out.
Let it go.

Sorry if someone mentioned it already, but Kirby was asked about the timeout and said he didn’t have a problem with it. It’s just coaching til the end. Guess those of us who thought it was low rent need to let it go.
Note: if you are on a low sodium diet, don’t watch Uncle Lous reaction. It’s salty af.

It’s football, we got tested, lost on TD, Didn’t give up and blocked the extra. They got a moral victory then we got revenge.

Devils advocate: what Kirby thinks is not necessarily what Kirby says. Especially when it comes to other coaches or programs.

By ordinary people standards, yes. By football coach and People of WalMart standards, no.

That’s coach speak. He liked it about as much as he did when auburn did it last week and then threw a bomb to try and run the score up as retaliation.

Still a bitch move only to get the kicked blocked. So, wasn’t that great of a momentum builder. He can’t say he scored more than all other teams on us which is all he was trying to do. Which is why it was a bitch move down 30-7 with 7 seconds left.

bitch move
Not really.
Personally, i dont get waiving the white flag with 11 minutes left in the game and the ball in hand. A good OC/HC is going to try and score quickly. Stoops and the rams guy felt differently. They felt the only way to score/improve was to go 3 yards per play and eat up as much time as it takes. I shite on Dan Mullen 2 years ago for doing the exact same thing.
Once the opponent waives the white flag on the game and makes scoring that one TD the priority, you are an idiot if you think anything matters from that point on. Our coach broke Stoops with 11 minutes to go in the 4th. Who cares if stoops uses timeouts? Stoops at that point gave up on winning. Thats the point.
When we had the ball back against auburn and were running the ball 20 straight times with our 2nd and 3rd string OL, that is different. That is us showing mercy and getting backups work. That is why Harsin was a bitch trying to make something else important (squeezing in that final drive). The game against kentucky hadnt reached that point because kentucky never gave up the ball with 11 minutes to go.

You play whistle to whistle. He's just trying to keep his team motivated

Calling a timeout with 3 seconds left when you can’t change the outcome is a shite move whether you’re winning or losing.

One coach was playing to win and one was playing for a moral victory.

I don’t know. A 22 play 12 minute drive to close out the game? The defense had plenty of opportunities to put an end to it before the timeout.

I believe I read the 11-minute drive was the longest Georgia has allowed to an opponent. I hate that we gave up points at the end, but TBF if we really wanted to keep them from scoring again, then we should have got a stop somewhere during those 11 minutes.
Looking on the bright side, Kirby now has 11 minutes of tape to hammer his defense about over the bye week. You know he won’t let ammo like that go to waste.
Stoops did us a favor. If Georgia had got a stop, all we would have done is run the ball and drain clock. But he did it for us. Eating that much time to score an irrelevant TD that won’t win you the game was the same as conceding defeat IMHO.

Stoops knew his team was beaten long before that final drive. He will use that long drive as a motivator for the next game they play to show that his team can still move the ball on a #1 defense. Had he made calls like that all game the final score would have been closer but still a Kentucky loss.
It was up to Georgia to stop that drive, but at least there were no injuries for us on that drive.
