And several he has gotten away with which is great until you don't just from the Mizzou game the pass to MRJ on the sideline and the 1st pass to Burton were INTs vs better DBs.

That's what I said until I was told it was an excellent pass.

Ok, I ask you watch them again. The sideline one certainly was tight and could have been an INT, but the ball had a lot of zip on it and it was a 1st down pass. The pass to Burton was not risky nor close to an INT. The DB had his back turned and never tracked the ball. He put one arm up and one on Burton. Burton made a good play on the ball.

I guess you can say a better DB would have made a play, but then I can say, a better DB would not have been 2 steps in trail and Bennett would not have pulled the trigger.

The only stat I really care about

Wins 9
Losses 0

I could care less who plays where and when. Its a game played by a damn team.

I dont understand why dawg fans are complaining about completions.

Is there room for improvement?
No doubt. But mac jones and joe burrow arent walking out of our lockerroom.
This is college football. 99% of our team has room for improvement. 99% of all college players have room for improvement. Every QB in our QB room can improve.

If Stetsons throw to Burton allowed the defender to close space... say so and move on. It was a completion. It takes 11 guys to make those happen. Sometimes, the QB is doing the heavy lifting on a play. Sometimes, it is the receiver. Sometimes it is the pass pro stepping up and doing most of the hard work.

Stetson isn't the safe game manager either, he does more risky things with the football. He has way more gunslinger in him than JT.

Stetson is playing great.

But i dont think it is wrong to state that Stetson is more likely to force a throw if he is rushed in his read. Thus...he isnt your traditional game manager with his risks.

The long balls are iffy with him - they float way too much. What game was that he threw the long ball down the right side where the receiver had to stop and come back to be hit just as he caught it.

Stetson knew the receiver had his guy beat so it's better to underthrow than over throw, just drop it in the basket. He did.

I never saw anybody toss more 50/50 balls than Burrow.

Reality is..with good receivers and pass interference it isn’t 50/50.

Starts with at least not tossing into 2-1 and giving your guy a shot.

UTk have had issue with QB that can move..which leans Stetsons way.

Manziel did the same with Evans. JT Daniels did the same with Pickens a lot. Stet has his 50/50 balls he'll throw too.

It’s not really a 50/50 play if they are in man, with their backs turned from the QB and have no safety help.

To be fair to stetson, he has more long ball completions in stride than JT in 2020 and 2021 combined. He has 2 in stride to Arian Smith (JT was never able to make that happen to date).

Long balls are typically low completion passes because someone on the 11 men on the field often Fs it up. Didnt you watch Stafford and Murray? They werent hitting 50% completions on deep shots. As a matter of fact, we lost games because of the inability to stretch the field at times.

I can be critical of Stet and give him credit for the good as well. And as i said earlier, why are we complaining about completions. They arent easy.

Good bump.

I owe Peter an apology.
I read his wall of text and it doesn't read angry.

Around November 2021, there was a lot of angry shite-posting with regards to stet. We've got some 'extra special people' on this board. The wall of text (incorrectly) made me assume this was another one of those threads.

Stetsons game break down of the OSU game mirrors a lot of what I said on how he threw the deeper balls.
