Don't have much besides some bad news with Pearce Spurlin. Apparently he has a heart condition that is forcing him to retire from playing football.

Haven't signed up for any of the Intel sites yet leaning towards going with Graham.

Anyone got any updates from sofl?

Injury updates from Kirby:

OT Bo Hughley - left shoulder labrum - out
DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins - left foot (same injury as last year, cleaned up postseason) - out
LB Kris Jones - toe (high school injury) - limited
DL Christen Miller - meniscus clean up (post Orange Bowl) - limited
LB Smael Mondon - foot stress fracture - out
RB Branson Robinson - patella tendon (last fall camp) - not cleared, but will do walk thrus nine months out
DB Malaki Starks - shoulder - limited
WR Rara Thomas - foot - limited
LB Damon Wilson - meniscus clean up (pre Orange Bowl)- full go

DB Demello Jones (hamstring) and WR Colbie Young (ankle sprain) also nursing minor injuries.

This is why we sign as many good players as possible. You never know what’s going to come up medically or even personally. Also the assumption was I believe for Mykel moving to Jack that TID would start at his 5 spot. So him still dealing with the same injury that kept him out several games last season is concerning. He’s really good when healthy though.

So far as several places I’ve heard half the reason we got Etienne was because it may be mid-season before Branson can contribute. When he first tore it they thought it was basic but I guess it was worse than they thought. He’ll probably get cleared by early season maybe even game 1 but won’t be 100%.
Looking forward to the secondary and OL battles.

Agreed. That was my first thought.

Wasn't Thomas injured much of last season?

No he was healthy until like Tennessee or something. Just didn’t play much early on because he was transitioning from air raid system to our pro style. Big change.

I wouldn’t count on him contributing much this year.

There's no need for it, IMO. Let Etienne and the others carry the load until Branson is 100%.

I feel like it made sense regardless. Delp was our only remotely proven guy at the position.

Kyron Jones has a good shot to make a move to play STAR position from what I hear.

Wow....Smart running down the list of the frosh Olinemen that have lost a 'tremendous amount of weight..." It was just about all of the early enrollees, including Calhoun and Daniels who apparently showed up weighing 396 lbs! Holy cow! He said he wants them all down to a paltry 330.

That makes me snicker. I remember the day when if a linemen weighed 330 lbs, he was considered GODZILLA.

If he does can Aguero still potentially play safety? He’s talented.

I’m hearing Arian Smith is being much more physical on the perimeter.

So long as he catches the damn ball. His dropsies last season were infuriating.
