I watched a little of their game yesterday against Tulsa. Cincinnati will not match up physically against Georgia. If, and that is a big if, Georgia and the youngsters come to play, Georgia will win by several TDs.
It might actually bode well for us to have some of our younger guys with some experience play. They will be excited and ready to prove themselves. I'd almost rather someone on the fence sit the game out then end up with another Sugar Bowl vs Texas type performance.

Line opened at -8 and now we are -6

Just goes to show how powerful ESPNs opinion is.

Lazy drive by sports media likely doesn't even know JT is starting...

You understand that the media does not set the line, right?

They control the narrative and the handicappers play off that. Especially in a situation like this where they can create a sucker bet(like those who bet this line down 2 points).

You know Boise was ranked #5 in the nation when we played them in 2011 and ended up #8 in the nation. I've never really understood why people think of that as a bad loss.
I don't think it was a bad loss. I think we had a brain-dead fan base that thought our fricking band would beat them by 75 because "they're just a bunch of 2 and 3-stars". Anybody who paid attention should have known that Boise State is a very solid program, and has been for years. It's just a smaller one.
Cincy has been doing some good things for a while now, too. Not to the same extent/length as Boise State, but they've been respectable for a smaller program. Simply cautioning against going into this game with a similar attitude.

Boise was a experienced top 5-7 type team, we were an absurdly talented but inexperienced team. I wish we would go home and home as I enjoy Boise and the surrounding Mtns. Ketchum is a blast.
If we don't completely frick cincinnati up in the trenches then we got problems. We should rush for 400 and throw for a bunch.

And?
- Boise State 2011
West Virginia 2006
Boise State 2011
Texas 2018
The last one was more or less expected by most UGA fans, not due to Texas being the better team but due to the fact that UGA was not in the least bit interested in playing the game and Texas was all in on "being back" and making a statement against a SEC Team one year from a near miss natty and a couple of plays from the CFP.
The 2006 Sugar Bowl was one most UGA fans thought we'd win handidly because it was West Virginia snicker snicker....and the 'Neers took us to the woodshed because they were the better team.
The same is true of the Boise State game...most of us thought it'd be close for 50 minutes and UGA would win by double digits. Boise was FAR more disciplined and much better coached and beat us soundly.
I get the idea that Cincinnati will be more akin to these 3 than Hawaii....I hope I am wrong and the team takes the Bearcats seriously because they are pretty damned good....they will definitely be the third best team we play this year and we got shellacked by the other 2....

I feel like people, particularly UGA fans, only remember the 1st quarter of this game, when WVU jumped up 21-0 and UGA looked totally lost (which was kind of par-for-the-course for Willie's defense). We lost that game 38-35, and we were out gained by ONE yard. Three fumbles are what really killed us. Top to bottom, roster wise, we were still the better team, even with Pat White and Steve Slayton, we just came out unprepared for the then-novel hurry up, no huddle offense of WVU. Coaching lost us that game.

Would have won if not for that damn fake punt, too. Had all the momentum and they were not stopping us on offense.

I can't imagine Las Vegas setting their lines based on what an opinion piece says. Yes, they would take injury reports and opt outs, but not from the media giving their narrative.

Was sitting in the nosebleeds for that game, and had been saying since the first time they punted that their formation was wack and that I bet they would run a fake at some point. My buddy and the rest the section I was in (mostly WVU fans) agreed.
We figured if our dumbasses sitting way up here could see it coming, surely our coaching staff could see it. Either we were wrong about that or they DID see it coming and WVU just out executed our guys on the fake.

You're right. I remember just getting boat raced, but in sober distant hindsight, it was a competitive game.

Georgia has no excuse to not completely run herd over Cincinnati.

The only excuses I have would be:
Jordan Davis not playing. We dont have another one like him. Maybe George Pickens is at that level.
We have backups every where else at a similar level to the starter (we dont have another Lecounte ballhawk. But we can win without a ballhawk safety. Not effectively slowing down the run effects 3rd downs. 3rd downs effects our offense on the field)

This is where Kirby needs to conjure up his inner Saban.
Go in with an attitude, and expect a winning effort from his players, and nothing less.
The only way we lose , with JT at the helm, is being unprepared and unfocused.

I can see Kirby sitting in his office thinking "What should I do for the bowl game, I am at a loss. Oh I know, I will do what Saban does and have my team focused prepared and expecting to win. Why didn't I think of that myself?"

That disaster of a game with Florida probably has set the tone for Georgia and the betting public. The point spread would have been higher otherwise. It appears most of the SEC is not favored in their games. I think they are going strictly by records of teams. With no inter-conference games it is more difficult to get a read on teams plus everyone played 10 games but four teams and one of those was Vanderbilt.
