It shouldn't be bad by an stretch. This is still one of the biggest OL's in college football.
I suspect the depth chart will look something like this? (please correct if wrong anywhere)
LT: Mays(jr) | Condon(rs so)
LG: Hill(jr) | Shaffer(sr)
C: Webb(so) | Ericson(rs so)
RG: Cleveland(rs sr) | Ericson(rs so)
RT: Salyer(jr) | Truss(so) | McClendon(so)
Plus incoming freshmen:
T Jones*
C/G Van Pran*
T/G Ratledge
T/G Lindberg
G Blaske
G Willock

WTF happened to Hayes for the Bowl?
Posted on 1/7/20 at 9:59 am to dhuck20
yeah I think he was one of the higher graded guards most of the year. I think Rd2-3 is about right based on the class this year

I saw Walter football had him in the first round

I thought he had another year of eligibility. He was a CC transfer in 2017 and redshirted. Got a few mop-up duty play in 2018, and played a bit this past season in 6 games.

Are you expecting Netori to move back to offense?
It is tough considering Hill at guard.
That appears a lot more attractive group of 5 to me. But having experience at center is tough to intentionally walk away from.

Blaske has very good film at guard. Very athletic kid. It will be interesting to see the direction that Luke takes us with regards to weight. I think Blaske is listed at 275. Is he an option at guard even with a redshirt coming from that weight.

I think this was his final year of eligibility.

It's moot anyways, but thanks for that correction.
I do suspect Hill moves to LG and either Webb or Ericson takes over at C.
Van Pran is also a beast and could step in to a backup C role immediately too, if Webb is suspended over this incident and Ericson becomes the starting C.
Or, Hill moves back to C and Shaffer moves up to LG. But I don't like that scenario as much.

I think I heard it mentioned that Netori moved back to OL during bowl practices now whether that was from attrition at OL or not seeing the field besides garbage time at DL is hard to say

Anything that gets Trey outta the C position is good by me. Got blown up too often... JMO

Very surprised he's leaving, but he's getting a 2-3 round grade. Which is even more surprising.
This shouldn't be surprising to anyone. When he gets into an NFL camp and loses 15-20 pounds, you'll see a completely different player than the one who had zero lateral quickness this season.

Couldnt handle snapping and blocking. Will be a much better Guard.

Basically, we have all kinds of options for the interior but the tackles might be worrisome heading into next season.

I think this was his final year of eligibility.
If he played 2 years at CC (2015 & 2016), and then redshirted with us in 2017, then was active with us for 2018 & 2019, he's probably used up all his eligibility.
Does anyone else know? Does CC use up eligibility like that?
If Hayes is out, then just slide Condon up, I guess.
All the more reason we need to secure Jones this recruiting cycles. You'd think he'd be licking his chops at the fact he'd be this close to playing potential.

Hill could stand to drop 15 or so pounds too. I thought he and Kindley were too heavy last season.

75% of his body weight is in those freaking thighs. Like he's hiding a few hams in his silver britches

Hayes was a part of the 2017 class and came in as a junior, redshirted, and was with the team for 3 years. So, that would've made him a RS senior for 2019.

He was in the '16 class and never went to CC
