Yes. Especially the further south you go.

Lines of thunderstorms ahead of a cold front in April will always have a threat of escalating into severe weather.

What we aren't in right now is a NWS PDS Watch, which is what MS has been in all day.

Three tornados have passed through north Alabama so far tonight and heading for north Georgia. Some damage south of us (we are north of Guntersville) and in Etowah County, Al., heading for Floyd County, Ga.

edit: We've had 4" of rain so far since 4:00 this afternoon.

Friends in NW Ga said there was some damage...don’t know where or how bad though. In Murray County...near Eton.

All of NW GA is under a tornado watch, and has been for hours. If you live in NW GA, you should consider yourself in deep shite.

Thunder just rattled my windows and the closest storm is over 30 miles away.

Very unnerving. I'm near the Gwinnett/Walton line.

ETA- I don't have enough beer to stay up all night watching this shite. Dammit.

Yeah, they're saying we've got watches coming for the rest of us, too.

The first tornado warning that came through NW GA developed a distinct debris signature on radar so there's no doubt there was a tornado on the ground up there on the ground for a couple miles. I'm just hoping it mostly tore up pine trees.

From my texts part of that debris was the roof from an apartment building. But this is N Murray so probably not a densely populated or well constructed complex.

The shitlords waited until midnight to put up the tornado watch for the rest of the state.

We're officially in it now.

The National Weather Service is basically useless.

I’m hearing Summerville, Trenton, Ringgold, and Rossville have all had some sort of damage. Read where some trailers got flipped over and people are trapped Trenton I think.

There's widespread straight-line winds from these storms measured over 70mph up there, and more coming right now, for NW GA.

Tornado or not, these thunderstorms are going to knock down trees and flip trailers.

Some good news, all this rain moving out in front of the main line will help to take some of the arse out of the main system, for north of Macon. Fluid situation.

It's all over now except for more rain until dawn. I have 4.5" in my rain gauge and light rain still falling.

A weatherman in B'ham pinpointed a tornado warning by referencing a BBQ joint and a strip club.

In the dark and scary world we live in today, it doesn’t take a lot to make people smile.

And uber weather man James Spann referencing an adult entertainment club in a very serious forecast did just that Sunday night.

Meteorologist James Spann was on ABC 33/40 Sunday night discussing severe weather as it rolled into Alabama. Speaking about storms in Jefferson County and looking to provide people a reference as to location, Spann mentioned the Green Top BBQ and the appropriately named Wesley’s Boobie Trap.
