The contract with CBS runs out after the 2023 season, but CBS and the SEC are talking now about getting a new contract done soon. Currently, CBS pays $55M a year, but estimates are the new contract could be in the $250M a year range. Every network wants it. Who will get it? Here's an article on it.

I will be pissed if CBS doesn't get it. Even tho Gary sucks off Bama and the commercials will only get worse with that price...I dont want any other network. Give me CBS OR GIVE ME DEATH

Pay the commentators less and give the conference another couple million. frick the commentators, a robot can announce down distance and pertinent information.

I like the idea of more time flexibility (not just stuck with 3:30 each week aside one other week). But I like diversifying our exposure on ESPN and CBS too. My hope would be we keep CBS but somehow it’s negotiated that there is more than 1 night game per year.

Maybe Bama will be on the decline and won’t get as many mentions during every one of our games.

You got that right. That's more money than I make in a month!

I worked in radio for awhile. Trust me. It's a lot harder than it looks.

It’ll be interesting to see when big tech starts to get more involved in these negotiations for sports contracts.

Right, with AI announcers.
MaMfuNcTion error error at all the holding no-calls during bama games.

What would UGA's cut from this deal be?

I don’t care who the frick gets it. Just keep the biggest SEC game at 3:30.
I used to be a night game guy but the older I get I love being able to get plastered and sober up before bed.

I wish a robot could have called all those games Larry Munson butchered. Siri would have been so much better.

Agree. Hell now that I'm in my 30s and don't live in Athens I actually kinda like the noon games more and more ha

I can't wait for the day when Siri, C3-PO, and Beth Mowins bring us the 16-team playoff on YouTube Red sponsored by Planned Parenthood. Live from London.

This contract should yield more than the big ten gets from Fox. The 3:30 time slot outdraws the 12:00 game. CBS has made many, many millions off of this contract. Should they stay with CBS if they match the other bids? Probably so, I would think. I want CBS to pony up the money for the conference.

a good day's viewing for me has 3 slots: 12:00, 3:30 and 7:00.
tomorrow i'll lock in to PSU-OSU, then UGA-TAM, then TN-MO (cause i hate tn).
all in all, a really nice continuous flow of saturday college football
