What do you guys think of Greg Schiano for DC? He’s leaving Ohio State.

Yeah, let's let them steal a guy who would massively upgrade their offensive coordinator position, who knows everything about Georgia's (Kirby Smart's) offensive philosophy and playbook, knows everything about our 2019 offensive recruiting board, and who has designed and run an extremely effective offense at UGA. What will happen is Tennessee will get a big recruiting boost by selling Chaney's success and from the improvement in their 2019 offensive output. And Georgia's offensive recruiting will have to sell kids on a huge question mark for the foreseeable future. Sure, send Jim Chaney packing and lets go with Coley. New OC and DC for 2019, and a big hit in returning offensive production at RB, TE, and WR. Not the recipe for a NC run.

Who we are recruiting isn’t a big secret and Cheney still can’t adjust his gameplay mid game. Evidently you like choking away the big game as we repeated run dive plays into a 8 man box.

All this Chaney love is exactly what all the Mark Richt defenders were saying when we got rid of him.

Bama doesn't need innovative offensive minds to win. Mike Locksley wasn't a hot name.

It turns out if you have the best players it kinda doesn't matter as much who is calling the plays.

As Kirby once said "the coaching part is overrated"

He also seems like a McDonald's guy, but only if it has a playground.

Unless it involves fake punts and field goals.

Preach. I mean other teams don’t scout our defense or watch game film do they? I’d also hate for them to find our list of recruiting offers or have some inside knowledge to our defense when we haven’t even hired a DC yet.

So we need to get rid of Chaney because he's not good enough, but the coaching part is overrated. Which is it? You pick and choose a few situations against top defenses to prove that Chaney can't adjust, and you ignore what he did with a freshman QB and an OL that dealt with multiple injuries and young players. Then you turn around and say coaching is overrated.

Here's a thought. Fire Chaney and try to hire somebody's OC who had stats like Chaney's offense put up the last two years at Georgia. See if that head coach lets him go. There's a reason most teams fight hard to keep good coordinators, and almost never let them get away to a division rival.

If Chaney leaves, we'll see how important coaching is next year when we compare the change in our offensive output to Tennessee's.

My Tennessee 'insider' says Chaney and Pittman resigned today and are heading to UTk. I hope he's full of shite.

Doubt he's walking away with 2 years left on his contract.

My insider is saying Chaney isn't coming. I don't think there was ever a hint of Chaney and Pittman but there's been rumor of Chaney and Tee. The media has been awful with this coaching search and our 'insiders' have been just as bad (so take my insider with a grain of salt too).

Fact is that Pruitt and Fulmer aren't allowing leaks out and it's sent reporters and fans into a frenzy.

Jake Rowe on 247 states: "UGA Sports Info tells me that Chaney’s current contract runs through June of 2021..." Also after we went to the NCG last year, Kirby, Pittman and Chaney not only got a raise but Pittman and Chaney got an extension on their contracts to 2021.

You're just not thinking tactically - there's no way that any defense would be expecting us to do it again after they've stuffed 7 or 8 times.

I never said we needed to get rid of him. I'm simply saying I'm not crying that he might be leaving because he's an older coach that doesn't recruit and he's presumably not as hungry as a young coach. His offense is at times limited at UGA and I think the Texas game was a perfect example. What is UGA when teams stop the run? What's our counter punch? Why don't we utilize all our weapons.

Our talent carried Chaney's shite playcalling, now we have an opportunity to upgrade.
