Haven't read whole thread, just wanted to chime in with this-
Collins, the MAGA guy, lost by 18%.
Jackson, the non-Maga republican only lost by 10%.
In Georgia, MAGA is done.
The swing voters in Georgia have MAGA fatigue. That's the only way to square those numbers.

Rick Jackson was a terrible candidate. He looked slimy and untrustworthy. The democrats could have run a pink vagina hat and still won the race.
I was surpised when he won the primary. He sounded like Forrest Gump in his ads "Ah lurned to WORK" not that Bottoms was any better.
I think the GOP pulled a Democrat party & relied too heavily on "well the other guys are even worse" for their messaging

I already posted the average price under Biden and the average price under trump 2.0.
You probably didnt understand because your chart didn't go back that far.
The captain of the Yale debate team couldn't explain this one away, sorry…

I agree with you.
But I think Georgia voters have had MAGA fatigue for 6+ years.
Has any Trump backed candidate won an election for governor or senate in Georgia? You can probably throw secretary of state and attorney general on there as well.

We overthrew their government in the 50s and have been fricking with the entire region ever since. If we just stopped trying to intervene in the region they wouldn't be a problem.
I don't understand the regional politics?
Lol
You do realize that Saudi Arabia wants us in the region.
UAE wants us in the region.
Jordan wants us in the region.
Kuwait wants us in the region.
Iraq wants us in the region.
Hell. I can personally attest that a large population in Iran wants us in the region.
Do you want 1 guess as to why?
You claim that I don't understand the regional politics but you homogenomize the entire middle east as a singular entity with singular values and purpose?
And you red herring our involvement as if it has to do with Israel. Good lord. Who is regurgitating propaganda?
I can admit that our interests in the region have to deal with oil. And our partners in oil.
You are halfway to the looney house with your conspiracies and quarter baked ideas about the middle east.

I can partially explain the graphic. The graphic at the bottom is misleading by not starting the chart at 0.And also keeping the top line at exactly the peak. It also doesn't go back far enough for a fair objective picture of gas prices.

"Unforced error" is the term thrown around a lot to describe Trump's war in Iran. In terms of gas prices, things had been going swimmingly for going on two years, going back to the last demented president. And then Trump committed an unforced error and was suckered into a Middle East conflict just like so many presidents before him.

Yeah but dude in the 70s gas was like 8 dollars so really gas is in a deflationary state if you zoom out.

quote:Really, a hbcu with a student body smaller than my high school is going to split the state funding for UGA ag? Can anyone stop her from this?
I like how our incoming ag commissioner says she is going to make UGA and Fort Valley State into coequal partners in research and extension… why FVSU and not ABAC? Hmmmm i wonder? Btw neither would hold a candle to UGA C.A.E.S.

I've researched it. Apparently, based on the Morrill Act (federal law), and Ft Valley being a land grant institution, the state is required to fund them equally when it comes to federal grants. Allegedly, going back to the 1800's, Georgia has not been doing this, and it's a $600 million shortfall. It seems to be a matter of law. The state has to start giving Ft Valley a lot more money and hope to settle up the difference before a woke federal justice department sues the state for a billion dollars.
There's probably a better way to do it than fricking UGA though.

People keep saying Trump this or that, but truthfully, he is now free from having to deal with either parties Looney's....Americans didn't vote for Democrats, they voted for a change that is going to royally screw us.

Gridlock isn't always a bad thing. It's why Massachussetts has elected a bunch of Republican governors even though it might be the most liberal state.
In Georgia, the only bigger thing that I can think of is this means the state income tax isn't going away anytime soon.

Yeah, I rescind my previous post. Just listened to this one. It was eye opening. Didn't realize that the State House is now in Democrat control and they'll just need a few flips in the Senate. Here comes Medicaid expansion.
But I don't think Keisha is as hopelessly liberal as some people seem to think. She'll definitely have to placate a bunch of her black constitutents here and there, but it's not like she's AOC or something. When she was mayor had to balance the white money class in Atlanta and her black constituency. She caught shite from both sides duirng the BLM riots. The BLM people thought she wasn't social justice-y enough. Black people in Atlanta also blame her for speeding up gentrificaiton and working too closely with whitey.
