Even with Trump 2’s admin working about as efficiently as a train wreck on PCP, I still refuse to believe my fellow Georgians are so fricking stupid as to elect Keisha fricking Lance Bottoms as gov.

Is Oconee county a barometer of conservatism?
I honestly don't know.
But I was under the impression that the well paid UGA faculty all lived in Oconee County. College professors don't have a reputation for staunch conservatism/libertarianism.

One thing to keep in mind is that absentee and early ballots are counted first, and those typically break Democrat.
At the time that I am making this post, Jackson is winning the actual election-day vote 195,205 to 98,115. It's going to come down to what the actual election-day turnout was.

Idk about conservatism
But like the tweet says it is the perfect representation of the suburbs. The white women breaking towards dem is important these areas. It's how Ga went blue for Biden in 2020

Oconee is a solidly Republican county.

Imagine a State that is running a surplus for many years, giving back billions every year to tax payers, then turning Blue….this money won’t be coming back in tax refunds, it will now be going to socialist programs. fricking insane

I mean with the environment I could see it going blue, just thought it would take a better candidate than Keisha. jackson not super strong either and adopting the mini trump personal in the runoff probably hurt some.
You're looking at almost a clean sweep for the Dems here. Including my state Senate and house districts.

They were over $4 per gallon 5 years ago.
They have been under $4 for the past 2+ months (and the majority of Trump's term).
That is the opposite of inflation of gas prices.
Stagnant prices over 5 years is not up.
Now diesel prices are another story altogether. And they are driving grocery prices the past 6 months.

All the Democrats in the random statwide races (Insurance Commissioner, Agriculture Commissioner, Dog Catcher Commissioner) are winning too. It's nuts.

I know you'll argue anything, but this one's hard argument to make. The statewide average was 2.78 in late February before shooting way up. What big story in the news began in late February?

Without the fuel excise tax suspension, it would've been $3.50 something.
