If Al Golden is fired, it could get interesting.

IMO if there's a big, major disconnect or prob. CMR will just walk. No rhetoric, no grandstanding in the media... He'll just walk away...

He is from Athens, went to UGA and worked for Dooley before he left for UF.

McGarity fricking sucks. For all of Richt's faults, at least he has made an effort and done something for this program. Sure, that something was nine years ago, but we'll allow it.

What has Captain Buttcakes done? Jizzes all over the financial statements at his desk all day, I'd imagine.

What I have hard, and kind of believe, is that he will make McGarity fire him. Not because Richt wants the attention or is an arse but because this is where he wants to be and he probably knows him standing his ground is best for his coaches and players. If this is truly going on and Richt really is arguing with him (one rumor is that Richt went to Moorehead to have McGarity relieved) then he'd have to make McGarity fire him.

Mainly because McGarity can't. Richt is dug in like a tick. If Georgia's jesus is fired then McGarity will not survive.

I bet they'd do that in a heartbeat is Richt was gonna come. Kinda surprised Golden hasn't panned out.

Itll kill the program if the AD is trying to starve CMR out.

That is the worst case scenario. It would take 5+ years to fully recover from that slow burn.

Whatever tension there is needs to get resolved yesterday. Work it out, fire ADGM, fire CMR, whatever. Anything is better than the AD starving out the HC.

They need to keep "leaking" information and get the fans involved. Get the boosters involved. If this is going down then there needs to be a Sunday come to Jesus moment. It'll hurt us. Absolutely. But you can't survive on that shite. You're absolutely right.

I agree with Finley and others on this. McGarity has exactly zero equity built up to where people should give him the benefit of the doubt if shite hits the fan. If there's a McGarity vs. Richt war, Richt should win that.

McGarity is doing what he is being told to do. Richt obviously wants more money for his staff and isn't pitching a bitch to get more money for himself. Our admins better be careful how they handle this situation. Richt is very popular with our fans, boosters and the UGA community as a whole. If that community determines the our AD is not handling the situation fairly, our AD will hear about it post haste.

I can't imagine Richt wouldn't. As I said earlier, I think McGarity is an arse but I think he is only the personification of what the school admin wants. So he has the school backing him. But Richt has literally everyone else. shite hits the fans then everyone is going down or Richt wins.

I know that...just not where he fits into this drama. Assuming him leaving would lead to Da U coming after Richt? And McG going after Mullen?

I know this is all speculation but the Falcons are done and there's nothing else to do till Tues....

Absolutely. You and Crow are absolutely right. McGarity is in a shitty position where he has to push his and his bosses shitty agenda and the HC he has apparently is over it.

My respect for Richt will be infinitely increased if he goes at them.

Golden is on the hot seat. if they let him go in the next few days, I would think that they have their guy in hand to replace him.

fricking Mullen. I would be furious. If anything at least get Smart. He is the tallest midget out there for us.

Or Kyle Whittingham. The Utah AD dept is having the same issue as us. They have lost a coordinator every year or something the past few years. They lost their OC and DC this year and now there is a lot of smoke, like tons, that Whittingham and the AD are fighting over salaries and Whittingham is either leaving for another job or getting fired.
