Why would he?
Has this ever happened before? A coach getting fired then sticking around for the bowl game.. Seems like that would be kind of emasculating.
Maybe Richt was still in shock this morning when he agreed to this horse shite .

He resigned. It's already been announced that he would coach the bowl game.

F-150 commercial riding into the sunset. Ford deal probably made this a stipulation.

Why would Richt take next year off when it's going to be the biggest coaching shuffle in recorded history?
No way he's done coaching.

I recall Jim Donnan doing it. I could be wrong, but I think it's actually pretty normal.
Coaches do it because they have spent so much time with the kids they recruited it. Abandoning them would just be petty.

Richt was fired. He didn't resign.
Also, I'm aware that it's been announced that he will coach the bowl game. That's the point of the thread genius.
If he actually follows through with that, it says a lot about Richt's plans for the future..

Short of him going to work for a rival, only the Richt cocksuckers give a shite about his plans for the future. He's gone Jeff. It's over.

It used to be an NCAA rule that a newly named coach couldn't recruit for his new school until he took over the program. That's why a fired coach wa gone and usually an assistant coached any bowl game.
Urban Meyer changed that when he convinced the NCAA to let him start recruiting while Luke Fickell was still the HC through their bowl game.
