have significant concerns about SCW fielding punts in a tight game.

Absolutely. 2 games in a row where his antics almost cost us big.

Stand on the 10…if it’s over your head don’t back up and don’t touch it.

If it hits the ground first don’t touch it.

It’s not that hard!

Kirby defended him post game. Sounds like he was told to be aggressive there.

Kirby hates leakage on punts.

If it is catchable, he wants the returner sprinting to the ball.

If it can be stopped from rolling another 10+ yards, he wants the returner to get on the ball.

It is a very difficult/challenging job under Kirby Smart.
He is asking for everything.

The consensus on the Ole Miss board is that Georgia will be able to run the ball whenver and wherever they want, and the best thing to do at this point is to pray.

Apparently, "why can't we play a complete 4 quarter game" is a universal theme among fanbases.

I don't think you get a win in Oxford by playing ball control/not to lose. Trinidad IS good enough to put up points fast. Conservative ain't gonna cut it.

I dont understand the philosophy "conservative isn't going to cut it".

If the opponent scores quickly, I do not have to match their speed. I have to match their points.

The more efficient team wins (points per drive) every time.

The key to this game is getting 7 instead of 3.
Avoid road penalties.
Win on 1st down (5 yards).

As a matter of fact, being a ball control offense is good against Ole Miss.

Speed matters at the end of the halves. That is it. Win the middle 8. Be clutch in the 4th.

The counter argument to "efficiency over explosive" is penalties. Negative plays. Moving sticks is tough on 2nd and long. 3rd and long.
Explosion eliminates some of the potential on a 10+ play drive for a negative backbreaker (sack or hold).

I will take explosives. Absolutely. Run game. Pass game. It doesnt matter.
But points per drive is much more important.

Pu ters have improved since the put your heals on the 10 yl. Kirby just wants enough room to run the Offense, if that is catch on a bounce and fall on it so be it. Just be committed to possessing the ball.

Kirby's biggest vice, IMO, is settling for FGs.

Maybe.

We have the fewest 4th down tries in conference.

We are tied for 3rd/4th in conference in field goal attempts in conference play (10th/11th in conference for all games).

But we are 3rd in conference for TDs (1st in all games).

I know we jest about keeping the playbook close to our chest heading into big games, but is there a chance we kept it painfully vanilla against the 9ators?

I think the coaching staff figured out pretty early on that Florida was not going to score without help from Georgia. Once the lead was 17-0, we went to a "no turnovers" playbook and kept everything close to the LOS. When Florida got it to 24-8, we immediately broke out that misdirection toss play to Peanut for a big gain to go push the lead back to three scores.

A big part of it is probably because we've only played in two close games.

I'm hoping that Woodring's problem was not getting comfortable with the Field Turt. Because if he has the yips all of a sudden, that woudn't be great.

Both the Miss and FG looked like knuckle balls to me.
