" What % of UGA athletes are special admits?"

Depends on the sport, but I understand it is a significant percentage ...

... Yet, we know that overall, UGA is a real good school, but we do not need that fact to validate the fact that our College ball team with substandard students kicks the piss out of your College ball club with substandard students.....

Rules the question was asked and a point was made essentially to not flame so I was trying to be respectful. Hindsight being 20/20....football is the only sport that matters frick you and your broken down piss yellow gnat wagon, that will be all. Now gtfoff the site for the only football team in GA that matters.

Feel better now?

I think GT is a better fit in the ACC with smaller private schools like Wake Forest, Miami, BC, etc.

I am going to take the W on this one.

I'd like to thank Jesus, Ray Goff, and Christopher Columbus.... If it wasn't for them, we'd not be here right now...

It would be a bad fit, as would Clemson and Free Shoes University. Choklahoma needs to join the SEC along with baby girl tejas. Tejas is too scared though.

Texas will never join the SEC because they'll be a second class citizen in this league.

GT to B1G is an awful idea for a few reasons:

1. OSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin, etc... would kick the shite out of them every year. Iowa stomped a mudhole in their arse in the Orange Bowl a few years ago.

2. Geography. Not that Tech has many fans that will travel to a big game (see 2006 ACCCG vs Wake, played in front of friends and family) but even the few that actually do travel would not be willing to go to Minneapolis in November. Just a hunch.

Georgia Tech is way too small in general to join the Big Ten. The only exception is Northwestern (under 15,000 students) but it's in Illinois (not Georgia).

The other schools have at least 30,000 students (Nebraska has 25,000).

Here's some recent info: (demographics)

Rivals 4/5* by conference this NSD
SEC - 131 - Avg 9.4
Big 10 - 58 - Avg 5.8
Pac12 - 43 - Avg 3.6
ACC - 42 - Avg 3.5
Big12 - 31 - Avg 3.1

The eight states in the Big Ten's current footprint produced three players this year rated as five-star recruits by Rivals.com. The Big Ten signed none of them.

The B12 has the smallest footprint (by population) of all 5 major conferences. It's not a surprise the B12, on average, got the worst recruiting classes recently signed....and the entire conference was unable to sign a single 5 star recruit.

Everyone is fcked.

In all honesty, if GT actually wants to compete in conference they are better off staying in the ACC. If it's only about money, then they are better off going to be a whipping boy in the B1G. GT will never compete for conference titles in the B1G. Also, they will be more likely to miss more bowls in the B1G. So, pick your poison, but I think from a competitive/geographic standpoint they need to stay put. It is hard to turn down the Lame 10s money though.
