Only real thriller of the year and man...that was tough.

The D didn’t start playing until the second half, which was better than the O that waited until the 4th qtr

This O line is going to needs some work. They were missing blocks and looked confused. On the play where Zeus came up short, I swear McLendon pulled and ran away from the play by himself off to the flat.

JT still seems to underthrow the long ball ...and needs to be reminded sometimes a 1st down is good enough.

What was up with the clock still running during Cins last possession? Both runners ran out of bounds.

Who else was waiting for a pooch kick at the end ala CMR v Tech? Thank Pod we boomed it down to the goal line.

They were holding our D line every play in the first half..glad they finally called it.

Defense dominated once they woke up and kept us in the game.

Cincy’s clock management sucked...thank Pod.

In Pod We Trust. Helluva kick.

What a gutsy win by a team that obviously started slow and was missing a lot of starters. Hopefully our boys have a lot to work on and will be ready on 2021. I was sick like a lot of you because we’d all been here before....nice to have one to our way for a change.

Go Dawgs!!

Edit: and I wish we’d have gotten at least one shot on that shithead punter.

Hot take. I would be fine if Zamir left. Like mcIntosh and Milton more. Though maybe another off season to fully recover would help Zamir.

Darnell will be a problem for defenses.

JT is fricking tough. Dude got pummeled today and never looked scared.

O line has me worried for next year.

WR corp will be a joy to watch.

Need more outside runs in our game plan.

Impressed by Brini today.

Hope Jordan Davis comes back.. though Jalen Carter is getting there.

Always feels good to win. Proud of the boys for fighting and not giving up. Props to Azeez for playing today. Obviously he made a difference.

Another hot take:

Thank you to the guys that could’ve opted out but stayed to finish the season. Shows character and they were needed to set the stage for the young guys.

That clock was bs ! Zeus doesn’t need to leave his leadership senior will pay off . Darnell is a beast and we need him more then he needs us ! Overall we didn’t lay a goose egg like Florida a win is a win but there is a lot to improve on going forward . GO DAWGS

The main thing I noticed and I’ve already mentioned in the game thread is this: The o line did great against an undermanned Mizzou. The only difference in this game was Cleveland’s opt out because Hill was out against Mizzou already. So why did we re shuffle the whole o line instead of just finding a decent guard? Salyer looks physically like a pro bowl guard but he’s better at tackle and has started at LT all season. But we started the large but inexperienced Truss instead and bumped Salyer to LG to bump Schafer to RG? It seems like Luke or whoever made that decision overthought the hell out of it.

Washington is going to leave as our best tight end ever (and I lov3d mcmichael Pope Charles )

Zeus is way underrated on this board I think, he had some fantastic runs Both in this game and this season

I do not love Burton, I wish Robertson would have had a bigger role

Brini is a physical beast

Rice opt out cost us the big touchdown run, was a bad misread by the middle of the D

Nolan Smith Azande Adam Anderson both get 10+ sacks next year

JT with a full offseason will be a heismann finalist.. 392 yards today

Considering we had only 3 or 4 practices to work on this offensive line I thought they finally began working well together in the 4th quarter, but still couldn't block well on run plays. I agree that JT should have looked more for simpler 1st down throws and just moved methodically down the field.
Defense looked good all game and came together in the 2nd half to shut Cincy down except for that excellent TD run.
Overall I'm satisfied with a win today, just not happy with the overall performance of the offense.

I do like Burton on the field. Great hands.
The two holding calls on DRob may be why we seldom saw him this season.

My take:

Kirby's decision to punt at the end with 4 & three almost cost us the game.

If you go for it there and don't get it, so what, Cincy comes away with a FG and it's a 5 pt. game and we could get the ball back and score. But I'll take what happened, it made for a better finish.

Y'all say this every other year. Dawgs will have 10 top 150 Olinemen to work with in 2021.

Ummm. We got the ball back and barely got a 50 yard field goal.

Do you want to edit your post or just leave this out there now that you remember how the game played out.

What if Cincy had ran on 3rd down? We would've damn near run out of time trying to get a FG if we stop them.

You also don't call a TO before the play and then punt it. Are you kidding me? This decision would be what was talked about if we didn't pull it out.

We also missed Cook big time today. He woulda smoked Cincinnati on all those blitzes they were throwing at us.

Monken was hard to figure today.Nothing wrong with taking shots down field but I really wish we'd throw more intermediate routes down the middle. He seemed to throw more with Bennett at the beginning of the season.

Missed him tremendously. He was the dude that ran those slip screens and drift routes to perfection. He and JT also seem to have a connection during the games. He’s a pretty good security blanket.

Good takes

I am a Monken guy, but his playcalling was a bit curious today.

The 3rd down play before the 4th and 3 was a Macintosh frickup. He had the 1st if he ran to sideline but decided to cut inside. Bad situational awareness.

Take away two key mistakes, shank punt and endzone interception and we cover the spread.

Agree. We had a lot of costly mistakes but I think the point going unmentioned by a lot of people is the fact we haven’t played in 3 weeks. Rest is great for health but for continuity that we were just building it doesn’t help.
