Doesn't look like scrapes I see online either, but I can't figure out what it is.
Deer tracks and trails all over this place.

There is a large beaver population at this place, but the gouges are too small to be beaver chews, there are other beaver chews all over, they look totally different.

My uneducated guess would be that a bird of some kind got after some bugs. I feel like I’ve seen similar marks on trees 30ft off the ground.

Uh, no. Looks to me like some human being has been fuggin’ with a pine tree.

Looks like a drunk in a F-250 hit a tree. Any paint chips in there?

Could be that chupacabra that you evicted from your attic. Looks like a warning to me.
