It would have been way too risky for Gurley to come back for his senior year. Todd's recovery from recent ACL surgery was uncertain. In spite of that uncertainty, Todd was still going to be drafted high in the first round.

It was much smarter to let an NFL team take the risk instead of Todd. There was no other rational choice.

yeah Todd's injury made it a no-brainer for him personally to go.

I'll never forget his first touch back after suspension though, kickoff against AU. They got the ball first and scored, then we trot todd back on KO return. I think everyone in the stadium felt somethign big was about to happen and sure enough he took it to the house. One of the most electric stadium moments in recent memory, shame it was called back for a BS holdign call on friggin ryan rankin.

Skipping his senior season was totally in his control. I understand the argument for going early, but ...

If someone holds leaving early against Gurley, I don't know what to tell them.

I remember him getting a couple of key first downs to secure a win against UF late in the game. He was a DGD.

Stuffing the fake punt against Missouri in 2012 was the biggest play of his career. That play was the beginning of that game going from close to an arse whipping.

He got a TD in that game, too. The coaching staff fricked his career all up, switching him from RB to LB, and then back to RB. He was only 17 when he arrived at UGA; they probably should have redshirted him and let him be a RB.

dude was built to be a MLB. Still don't know why they thought he was better suited to be a RB

What’s funny is if you watch him in 2009, like his 80 something yd TD vs Arkansas, he was fast as shite and smaller. Dude returned kicks. Then he moved to LB and became frickin huge. THEN he gets moved back and turns into a power back. He was basically 3 different players.

Samuel had some trouble hitting the hole early in his career along with ball security issues. It’s a shame that things didn’t pan out for him at the position, especially when all of the other RBs on the depth chart couldn’t stay out of trouble or on the team.

Despite not living up to his ranking out of HS, I think it’s great that he’s still considered a fan favorite because of his play in the 2011 Florida and 2012 Mizzou games.

I said I understand his reason for leaving early. Still, it means I put one or two others in front of him on my list.

sony deserves it more than Gurley. Chubb too even thought he’s not in this one.
