I agree, I think we should wear them once a year to take some of the "fake juice" stigma out of it. My preference would simply be the last home game of the year, that way it's already known well in advance when it is.

Also the whole black jersey "thing" is so overblown it's not even funny. We're 3-1 in them and we lost to bama because we were the far inferior team, not because of the jerseys. And anyone that was there (bama fans included, maybe even especially bama fans) will tell you that atmosphere was frickin ROCKING pregame.

It's a shame that jersey looks SO damn good, and we glorify it nonstop in recruiting, but never wear them. I get that kirby is all about avoiding distractions but if you alreayd know a year in advance when the date is I don't see how it'd be distracting.

Agree. We are too good of a team to worry about jinxes and superstitions. I can see Kirby avoiding them if he thinks they create some sort of distraction. But I can better seeing him saying play your game, do your responsibilities, beat your man, don't worry about the color of your jersey. I also think he understands the positive effect it can have on recruiting. And the fans would love it.

This. They could have been wearing pink and it wouldn't have mattered. They mauled us on the lines of scrimmage and that was the difference.

Did you ever see the shirts he had printed for his crew? Standard white pocket-T with silkscreened antennae coming out of the pocket, and "Eat at Herbie's; 10,000 Cockroaches Can't Be Wrong" on the back.

Always wanted one of those.

Free pizza with 10 box tops, too. Or was that someplace else?

Tim Wansley....he was involved in the fight too at CC

T Edwards was always out

Billy Bennett - he also used to rock out on the guitar before practice

Pollack and Greene always out and about but didn’t get crazy, but man they could play some Halo. winning tournaments all the time

Randy McMichael

Michael Johnson....actually, every single person on the Defensive line 2 deep

Blue was always out too
Shock was always out, but don’t remember him being sloppy ever

I dunno. Never saw him in a band.

Boar’s Head.....nothing like negotiating with the grill guy between the fence at the end of the night. I got $3.65, what can I get.

One day it was burger, dog, shitload of fries.

Next time it would be a hotdog and some fries

I know towards the latter end of his career Pollack and I shot some pool downstairs at CC.

But my favorite run-in was after the Auburn game in 2003. Odell just capped the night with that 99 yard int return TD, but they just wouldn't let him in Toppers. Serious lobbying was coming from our group, but his amazing play still didn't make him 21 to the door guy.

The door guy probably didn't care; however, he'd be aware that any officers who happened to stop by would likely care quite a bit.

It was...and we were inferior...but all of that pregame shite played a roll in the ensuing arse whuppin.....We came out and were like a young bird dog tripping over covey after covey because they are so pumped....and Bama came out to prove a point. We probably lose that game badly either way but I will always think it pissed Bama off and was too much distraction for us....either way it was an epic beat down for certain.

If we are going to do the black shite do it against a rent a win team...give the crowd something so they are involved past the first quarter against directional state U....but then again a lot of those games are the only games young families can get tickets to and they deserve the whole tradition of UGA football and a sea of red is one of the best. Probably should save them for meaningless bowl games like the Sugar bowl last year...or just forget them altogether...

Bama didn't win because they were pissed off at the color of our jerseys. And pretty much everything else you said is bogus. But I don't like to argue. A mature team plays it's game red or black.

I didn't say they did...I said they proved a point....they win the game either way but I don't know it was the beat down it was without the atmosphere...you don't think a great team can put forth just a little extra effort if they feel slighted somehow? Conversely a team can't play above its head and win one they shouldn't? Alabama was the better team and there is no doubt of that....were they that much better???? Seriously....31 - 0 at the half better? In Athens? If a team can play above its head and beat a team they shouldn't it follows that a team can play above its head and beat the shite out of a team theyd have beaten anyway....

Cochran's "going to a funeral" line might have provided extra motivation but Richt's team didn't wake up until the second half when it was too late.

I vote we wear them.

frick ND and frick Bama.

We shouldn’t be running from some bad juju from 11 years and 1 coach ago. Kirby’s different. We are gonna wax that Irish arse no matter what color we are wear. Might as well break em out and put the bad juju to rest.
