I would crush some ECV curly fries and a smoothie every Saturday morning in the Fall if I could.

That's the money spot right there.

I have one friend who won't leave town without stopping there for breakfast.

It’s got all the griminess of a Waffle House but with twice the grease (and thus flavor) plus the location is unbeatable. It’s also never overrun because of its appearance so it’s a nice mellow spot to eat and talk football before the day gets going.

Favorite dining hall items back in the day:

Bolton- hash browns. One time my freshman year they switched from the waffle house style to the cubed, oh boy. I emailed J Michael Floyd demanding answers and he got it straightened out in short order

O-House- previoulsy mentioned but the hibachi and chicken country area. CCU had badass chicken fingers with zaxbys style sauce, really dank veggies okra, mashed potatos and macaroni.

ECV- they had a "wrap of the day" and Tues/Thurs were the GOAT. Tuesday was some kind of italian thing but Thursday was like a spicy chicken wrap.

Snelling - everything

Hibachi is good, but O'Hacienda is probably my favorite spot in O-House and UGA as a whole.

I tried to hold the title "Prince of O'Hacienda" a few years ago by trying to eat fully loaded: Nachos, a burrito, and a quesadilla in one hour. The dining hall won in the end.

Mayflower is great and usually not a line, but efficient and fast they are not. It's still my go-to for breakfast.

Regarding Waffle House, the secret Waffle House near Southern Brewing company just outside the loop is the best Athens Waffle House and anyone who disagrees can go to Hell.

Oddly enough, getting something to go Ate mayflower has always been a very fast process for me whereas dining in is slooooooow.

Agreed on the Waffle House selection in Athens. I don’t even know if there’s a close second now that the Five Points WaHo has met its maker.

I am surprised they haven't had to rebrand it to 5 Binary Pansexual Beings.

5 Guys was dwindling bad. I was skeptical about the CFA they replaced it with but that place has actually been pretty awesome thus far.

Little Italy, Gyro Wrap, The Grill, Mayflower, and Taco Stand still holding strong as the old fricks downtown, god bless em

Some of my missed Athens. What was the name of the old burger place that was open late just West of DT? I can't recall for some reason.

Walking into Little Italy, Gyro, or Taco Stand is a damn experience that takes me back to being 7 years old in fearful awe of college kids and music I didn’t understand and language I wasn’t allowed to use and trying to imagine my mom and dad as young and cool and hanging out in one of those dank places listening to new wave music

I was a kid but went to both Allen’s and Steverinos on a few occasions. I think both closed down late 2000s IIRC.

Yes Allen's. Thanks. My first "date" with my wife was at Son's of Italy at five points for lunch. I asked her after a class we shared and she said yes. I was surprised.

Some of you were too late for the open parties at the houses back in the day too. You could just wander from frat house to frat house, party to party all night. No invitations needed, no headcount limits, just fun.

I went to Allen's many times for hamburger steaks and draft beer. I learned that it is no more. What surprised me was the continued existence of my lunch place, the Mayflower restaurant.
