99 scholarship spots, will be 105 before the season starts.

2 players did stupid shite, dangerous shite, and were arrested for it, and will be disciplined if not kicked off the team for it.

But "I'm done with the program and institution".

Geeze Louise

Go pop a progesterone.

In a lot of cases they get favoritism and when it comes to many local police departments in College towns they do, but they damn sure do not in Athens. In fact, it is the opposite.

That doesn't answer the question of "should?".

Nobodys defending anyone. All I’m saying is pearl clutching over a teenage boy that was speeding is silly. Write him up and move on.

It’s no more of an indictment of Smart as it is for every parent that ever had a kid get in trouble for doing something stupid.

Like others in your posse, you told tales of personal high mph speed glory for dual purposes. One of which besides personal cool points was letting dipshits off the hook for embarrassing our program and the legacy of Kirby Smart

Were there fans during urban Meyer s reign in Gainesville doing this shite while the crime piled up like firewood

What are we doing, fellows

If you are "done with the program", are you now here to do a Hangman game or host a Fish-Off?

Urban is a great example of the leaching journalists keeping their mouths shut. Some shite didn't come out until the Swamp Kings documentary a decade or more later.....

Should football players get favoritism?

Did I say that? Find the post and quote it. Unlike you, I have the honesty to clearly state what I believe. All you do is throw out straw man positions and then play the devil's advocate. Straight from the internet troll handbook; you're literally disagreeing with some fictional position that you invent yourself, and then you say, "I'm just asking questions". Once again, tell us what you believe. I already have.

It's not a "UGA" problem though. They broke the law, they're being punished for it by the legal system with no favoritism. That's how it should work everywhere.

I haven't seen anyone here deflecting or making excuses. They'll pay a fine, get some points, or whatever the system does these days. They may well receive some internal discipline too, probably something like public service or early morning stadium runs.

What I've said since the start of this thread, and in other threads on this subject is that this is a problem that happens everywhere, every small town and large city, always has and always will. But legal issues, especially victimless things like traffic stops, get swept under the rug by many college football programs. They like to convince people that they have a superior "culture" and have practically eliminated the recurring issues (like speeding, DUI, and other immature, irresponsible things that young men are prone to do) that happen at places like UGA. It's about public relations and recruiting and it's not subtle. They'll straight up say it to recruits/parents, or have their friendly media broadcast it to a wider audience. That's BS, of course, and it's actually an indication they have a bigger problem, a problem with corruption among the adults in charge.

Should is more of an opinion. they ‘should’ be treated like any other citizen. What happens in the world is, in some places, they get favorable treatment and in others they, and especially the car types they seem to be driving these days, get more attention from police.
Especially now, you have young kids getting very fast and powerful cars. The kids know they are targets and know they need all their papers in order and know they should not speed…yet they do. You can say they need to be smarter and you are right.

With a lot of research, I believe I could write an entire book about things that transpired there. It wouldn't be a gripping exposé, or a literary masterpiece, but there's a lot of material that got little to practically zero public exposure.

There is obvious friction there, the problem is, the cops don't look like white knights saving the day, It just makes the University, City, and State look lawless when the truth is actually the opposite. Other states, almost all other states, go about their legal business in a way that doesn't inflame the situation like how the State of GA does, that is truly the difference, one I see no where near the law elsewhere, two other states issue tickets or just don't care about of some of the things. They don't arrest for near the infractions so their is no mug shot or statement and again, some cities are too small to catch these issues and others are too big to care. Look at all the GA cities that have had their radars decertified over an imbalance in ticket revenue.

My advice is to make Kirby aware and drop them.off at their house and let Kirby deal with it privately. Drop them at Kirby's house, I am sure he will love that in the middle of the night.

I am talking lighter stuff, beat your woman, be a menace, or DUI, and go to jail.

Are football coaches the legal system?

Where should the art history majors be dropped?

And I asked you a question in return. But, I get the picture. You're not here for a debate because that would mean defending an indefensible point of view. Much easier to say things like, "Are you still beating your wife?"

BTW, do you get paid to post here?

What point of view?

It seems like you are assigning opinions to me that I have not expressed.

That's a good strategy for you. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Alter....Football coaches have been fixing player behaviour since the sport began. Extrajudicial punishment has always been a thing in sports.

You are an Alter and a rube.
