Why would you transfer just to walk on again

Exactly. Why announce it like anyone knows who you are outside of Athens, either? That’s a long way to go to be guaranteed nothing. Most of us would be thrilled to have walked on at UGA and actually had playing time to boot.

Behin Fromm, Bennett, Mathis, and Plumlee. Do we have a large demand for 5th string QB reps?

We had 5-7 QBs practicing at a given time when I was there.

It is as much that QBs have high opinions of themselves today and all they have ever heard is how great they are. 1 star players are HS allstars.

Wish this kid well but he did not have the arm talent to be our QB even as a back up.

TCU is a great school with likely the hottest and wealthiest coeds in the US. Good for him.

Still not sure he’s coming now. At any rate, if you’re a walk-on and had two 4/5-star guys in front of you, did you ever really expect to play? Unlikely he plays at TCU, either.

I read some fans say he could possibly compete for their job as the starter is transferring. That said, dudes gonna end up being a back up but maybe the idea of playing with his brother and at least being in the convo gets his dander up.

I guess it makes more sense to be the primary backup than 5th or 6th at UGA.

I know Richt often went through spring practice with about 6. Maybe more in the fall.

I haven't seen footage of the qbs under smart during practice.

Downing was 8 of 10 passing for 88 yards with no TDs and no Ints. Played sparingly in the UMass, Vandy, MTSU and Austin Peay games.
He is 6.0' 190 lbs. Excellent walk-on 4th string backup material.
