Logically speaking, Full extension of an arm is literally the opposite of short arming.

Except that's exactly what people are arguing that Landers does *not* do on many of his receiving attempts. Having an arm be "straight" is not the same thing as full extension, and no matter what semantic bullshite you want to try and pull here, you're well aware of this fact.

You have to pick some of the absolute dumbest hills to die on of any poster on these boards...

"Short arming" can be used to describe non-traditional sports and even non-"athletic" endeavors... climbing for example, using improper body mechanics that result in shortening one's reach below what the actual full range of movement would allow and making it more difficult than it need be. It can be used just to describe someone giving a half assed effort to pick something up from the ground, or reach something in a tall location. It may be most commonly used to reference improper mechanics on a throwing motion - ie. not using the full length of the appendage, therefore giving up leverage - but by no means is it the only correct usage of the term.

But by all means, continue... it's amusing

Enough with semantics. Evidence suggests that he did fully extend his arm in an attempt to corral the pass on that play, and that’s all that really matters. If you want to call that short arming, go ahead, but it doesn’t make sense.

If defending a uga player who is being incorrectly vilified for a big play in a game is a dumb hill to die on, I have no problem with the sacrifice.

Like short arm inspections, for example.

he did not give 100%
1. his right arm was not extended, but bent in order to protect his rib cage
2. his body was mostly upright, instead of leaning/diving towards the ball
3. his shoulders were not turned to give him extra inches to extend toward the ball

he's done this all year long going back to the spring game

He knew extending his R arm would prevent him from even touching the ball, so he decided to fully extend his L arm with a lean towards the ball, which naturally turns his shoulders. Wouldnt it make more sense to whine about the true issue of the play, which was the inaccurate pass?

The part I don’t get is when you troll, you take something skirting outside of the subject and make a mockery of it or turn a tangent of the subject back on one of the posters. He/she acts like he/she is arguing a point and will act like there is no concession, even when the facts are without question. It is a bizarre tactic that isn’t really trolling other than soliciting responses. Additionally, on a site that for all intents and purposes is about a football team one likes... to mock someone from that team for having a traumatic brain injury is even more bizarre. If it isn’t trolling, that is a pretty unique psychological profile.

I only care to talk about discussing one specific play, but you always go straight to worthless insults, and then whine when crap gets thrown in your direction. It takes a complete lack of self awareness for the instigator to try to play the victim.

Back to the play, it would help if you went back and watched the replay from the endzone camera as it discounts nearly everything folks are saying about the play besides "he didnt dive". The last time we had a discussion on this kind of subject, you were just as wrong as you are now, so maybe thats why you go straight into the toilet with your commentary.

I don’t care why you call it, I just want to see Landers extend both arms rather than only one...even if it bounces off his “hands” rather than his “hand” that would be progress. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt about not diving because he may not have been able to plant his foot in stride to get the leverage.

Also it not like this is the first time he’s done this.

It wouldnt have hit his hands at all if he tried to do this. Thats how far off the pass was from where it should have been.

The defender had a hold on the wrist of his other arm. You have to watch the replay closely. Or at least that’s what I remember from last night.

Correct. They showed it on the video board at the stadium and I was wondering why there wasn't a PI call.
