Sorry Kirby not a good look.

Per Marc Weiszer

Kirby Smart praised "Dawgnation" for being "all in," today but added: "I was proud of the support our fans provided for us even if they didn't think Jake could throw the ball."

Nobody said Jake couldn’t throw. We said we were sick of runs up the middle, bunch formations and receivers not getting open.

None of which was blamed on the players.
It was blamed on the COACHING. The coaches are the ones who acted like they didn’t think Jake could throw the ball. We know Jake can throw the ball. That’s why we have been so fricking pissed.

He’s right and he was sticking up for his players. Fromm has certainly taken a lot of flak from Dawg fans and he was right to call them out.

"Per Marc Weiszer"

Crumble it up and throw it in the trash. Don't even wipe your arse with it, and don't try to recycle it.

He is the worst of the worst of the worst.

No doubt. 3 in a row and Kirby is 3-1 vs. UF. What's the last coach that has a winning record after 4 games against UF? Dooley? Saban talks about the fans in Tuscaloosa all the time and they think he's a God there.

If that's what Kirby said, he was knocking down a straw man. The heat had been on Coley (and indirectly, on him) after the South Carolina fiasco.

Can't blame him for being defensive but maybe he should have said he's proud of the support our fans provided even if they didn't think Coley could call a game."

I saw the headline about Kirby going after the fans before I listened to the post game presser, and I had the same thoughts initially, Griffin. Then I listened to it, and it seemed like Kirby said it lightheartedly. The whole room chuckled. I’m sure he knows that the fans aren’t really saying Jake can’t throw. He just had to address the subject in a way that made it obvious he was aware of the fans frustration without sounding like too much of an arena speech. Fans LOVE arena speeches. Sarcasm font [ON] OFF.

I didn’t read this article, but I saw Kirby do the same thing on cbs on the field after the game. And he most definitely does take a shot at fans/critics/tv analysts/etc....

He and Fromm hug and celebrate in middle of media frenzy like they're long lost best friends (which was a really really cool moment) then Kirbs is asked about this bro celebration moment with his qb... And that’s when he says something along lines of.....”he was just happy for the ‘kids’ because everybody, I mean everybody doubted them and didn’t think they can play.”

At that point, I said out loud to my DVR screen, “Nobody doubted the ‘kids’ Kirbs. They doubted you and your coaches.”

People should watch their DVR of postgame and they’ll understand what OP is saying. I promise.

It wasn’t bad and won’t make you angry at Kirby. It’ll just make you roll your eyes a little at him briefly.

Clearly, he used all the “outside noise” as a motivation for the players this week....and most likely he is continuing to milk it and send a message to his players through the media even after the game with this kind of statement. Just like his mentor did and does....

Kirby didn’t ‘take a shot’ at anybody. He acknowledged the elephant in the room where people of his own fan base doubted him, the staff and most importantly the players, key players at that.

I’m not saying fans can’t criticize an coach, OC or holler when a receiver doesn’t go all out. But fans also can’t be so taken aback when someone calls you out for it. And maybe not you specifically but the doubters.

People have called out Fromm since day 1 and have been hating on him since SC. ‘We can’t win if he throws more than 30 times’ so on and so forth.

It’s time to roll with what we got. And what we got can be good enough come end of the season...it’s on us to decide do we roll with our dawgs through thick or thin.

I didn’t see the fans doubting the players.
Earlier in the bye period there was a post here about a quote from Swift saying if you’re going to Boo us then don’t come to the games.

Everyone agreed that nobody was booing the players, it was the coaching and play calling.

NOBODY has doubted Jake Fromms ability to throw the ball.
It’s a dumbass quote from Kirby. He and coley are at fault for the Carolina game.
Kentucky game was what it was. I liked the game plan. Why risk turnovers throwing it in that weather? Depth and talent showed at the end. 3 touchdown win and a shutout.

Amazed at how often some of you don’t appreciate what you have right in front of you .. inability to see it is the only explanation

I was one of the people criticizing the offense, and if I were Kirby after that game yesterday, I’d have said the exact same thing

I’m glad they woke up and starting playing some semblance of offense. Hopefully that continues.

JD I watched exactly what you watched and I got the impression he was talking about sports media at large, not specifically the uga fanbase.... which btw DOES have alot of broken minded fromm haters... and kirby is absolutely right. Many many people have been talking shite about fromm since the sc game, prior to which he was a first rounder on the draft boards. He isn't now. So how can you say there's been no fromm shite talk?

Yes people were talking shite on coaches too, but that's not what ks was talking about. Why are people acting like there wasn't fromm shite talk?
