I would have preferred Herman...but this program needs new blood, new control and this could be positive for us on several levels,,recruiting, energy,...plus it throws a kink in the machine that is Alabama... etc...,,,,Our "Sandwich" had grown stale... time will tell..

I sure hope they keep Pruitt somehow. The players love him and he produces. So what if he is blunt and a bit abrasive. Can't be worse than the emotional monster that is Muschamp.

Holy shite, twitter is blowing up with excitement from recruits.
I think this is what we all hoped for when dreaming of a new hire...hopefully Smart keeps this excitement going.

y'all are stupid. Muschamp is a fine DC. Kirby is one of the best. monteg could DC for us an we'd do okay. I say lock down boom and really concentrate on a badass OC that eason will dig

I think Smarts familiarity with Muschamp is what is driving it more than anything to do with Pruitt. They are friends and Alumni together so Smart probably wants someone he's more comfortable with who has made head coaching mistakes and can help Smart a little. Plus Muschamp put together a pretty damn good D at UF. We will see UFs D degrade with McElwain in due time.

Yeah, gaining Smart and Muschamp more than makes up for losing Pruitt. Any other coaches retained would be icing on the cake.
Really hoping for Helton at OC. We would be tough for years to come, especially if this recruiting class sticks.

Best thing about the Helton possibility is that the same people talking about Smart as almost a done deal say Helton is a name to watch. Eason should feel good about slinging the ball all around the yard and actually USING the TEs! ??

Helton seems to run a lot of shotgun with one and two back sets. Obviously with Chubb and Michel it doesn't really matter, because they can catch. But wonder if Helton would adjust a little and run more from underneath center while Chubb is still in the backfield.
