Means nothing if you don't have the right guy in place.Look what happened between Dooley and CMR.

Shouldn't Texas and Texas A&M both be kicking arse with all the talent in that state?

Chip Kelly would struggle the first 3 years. We do not have the personnel for his system.

Geebus My Dawg Friends..

Richt is my favorite HC in the SEC as a man, and not a bad coach overall.

This arms race to beat bama and get a championship is getting way out of hand.

Not disagreeing with the firing, just ambivalent I suppose.

It is much easier to hire a homerun and win on paper than in life. I wanted Richt over CBB, Duh! and Petrino.

Good Luck... I really wanted Richt to win the NC at GA once at least. Dang!

Nah. I like Richt. A lot. With the recruiting class we have I was hoping for another year, at least. But...it is best for Richt to leave. He never got credit for what he did well and always got blamed for anything that went wrong.

Now it's time to get behind the program and hope we get a good hire. I hope my fears of turmoil are unfounded and you guys are right. I want to see UGA do well and win a Natty as much as everybody else.

Don't have the receivers, either. Or the OL.

It's easier for receivers to run his system than a pro style. The O line is coached into that system. It's literally mad for college as opposed to NFL. It's easier for college kids by the nature of its designe.

You act like Richt was kicking arse with all the talent he had as well. Richt underachieved more than most schools. UGA might be the only top 8 program w/ the most NFL'ers to not win a Natty in the BCS era.

Plus you think GT or GSU is gonna start taking the majority of the instate guys over UGA now that Richt is gone?

Look very closely. UGA doesn't have much of anything going to next year should this recruiting class completely fall apart.

You're dreaming.... unless Pruitt's the guy he's gone. Get ready for a whole new staff.

Agreed, for a lot of reasons. New coach will want new staff. One he has picked. I would guess complete house cleaning.

That said, Pruitt was with Alabama, so it is POSSIBLE if we hire Smart that he keeps Pruitt....but I am thinking if Pruitt does not get the job he will leave.

Recruiting is going to take a hit. It just is. Anyone who recruited to Richt and not the university is gone. Hopefully his recent recruiting visits was him letting everyone know the deal.

No. I mean we don't have the type of receivers or the talent level.

Pass blocking is harder than run blocking. Our OL has been picked for paving the road, not for pass protection.

Hey. We disagree. maybe we will find out who is right, maybe not. Only time will tell. I think if Kelly comes back to college (And i think he will) he will go to USCw.

And you think that was all Richt's fault. How many of those NFLers never had to sit out multiple games because of punishment meted out by administration? How low were some of the scholarship numbers some years due to having to kick out players because the administration said so and the fact they said no over signing? Guys, go look at what the UGA administration has imposed on its own coaching staff and the go look at how the FSU administration acted or all the crap covered up by Florida under Meyer during his championship runs. Basically, the UGA administration has been playing checkers while everyone is playing chess, but yeah, blame Richt for trying his best to keep up.

I'd hate to see someone come down and set us back on the offensive side of the ball.
