I think the one thing that stuck out to me was the uncharacteristic Stockton play regardless of the reason for it.
I also agree that one play or player does not lose a game because there are any number of things that contribute to how a team gets in critical situations over the course of the game and the other team often has something to do with that.
I finally agree that CFB is becoming more pro-like and going though an entire season undefeated when you also must go through the playoffs is becoming more and more remote. It is truly lightning in the bottle that Indiana accomplished it last season.

Kirby said we were exhausted from the game with Bama in the week before the Auburn game........not after. It's not an excuse. No reason to think he wasn't speaking the truth. Aside from that we didn't even look like the same team that played Bama. Defense was slower, weaker and mentally not as crisp. In short Kirby said it beforehand, and our eyes verified it during the game. Soft??? NO. Excuses??? No.

I mean we were probably pretty tired and beat up, and Auburn was coming off a bye prepping for us, really not wanting a 10th loss.
I suppose it’s someone valid but their game plan was to run us over and not let us run the ball at all. They blew up screens, made Nate look less than pedestrian, and gunner having possibly the worst game of his career.
Auburn out played us and we couldn’t stop their run. Couldn’t tackle for shite. And realized just how important bolden is when he’s missing.
We will see what this team is made of after a week off and then against Florida. If we can bounce back it’ll be great

Reread the OP and ask yourself where I stated my opinion
Then ask yourself why you built a strawman and put words in my mouth
Then realize that I was doing the same thing to you
Then realize you called me evasive.
I just gave you a psychological breakthrough that would have costed you hundreds of dollars at a clinic, for free. You're welcome

I agree with this. Just a bummer that one of our Ls came against such a bad team and at home.
Would have liked to been undefeated going into the bye and this next stretch.
Ole miss becomes a must win to me because I think if possible the committee will ding us for a bad loss, all things being equal with say a random big 10 team. Then you have some of the haters that would call Bama a lucky win due to the refs.
A win at Ole Miss helps solidify the resume more than taking care of business at home vs Mizzou and in Atl vs florida

Speaking of strawman.
I never referenced your opinion.
In the OP, you ask questions.
In my first response, I asked you questions.

Asking you questions is a strawman and putting words in your mouth?
I specifically gave you an opportunity to clarify your thoughts. That is what a question is for.

Then realize you called me evasive.
I responded to your OP after I watched the presser.
You never answered my questions despite being queried 3 times.
That would be in the definition of evasive.
If the shoe fits.

I doubt you give any value or benefit very often to anyone.
You share on this board freely and I still feel like I am being ripped off.
If you feel good about yourself, then I am happy for you.

Very evasive answer.

If you have a specific question, ask it.
I am not afraid of opinions and I am not afraid to be wrong.
I've asked 3 times and you haven't answered. As if anyone cares what you think that deeply anyway.

It makes me wonder, if this isn't a blessing in disguise if it helps the team focus headed into the bye week and through a brutal stretch beginning on Halloween. Don't they always say that you learn more from the losses than you do the wins?
I hate that we lost the streak to one of our rivals, but at the same time I would gladly trade a three-point loss at home to an Auburn team who may not be as bad as they looked at the beginning of the season if it means getting our collective act together and notching at least a couple of wins in the playoff.

I did friend...it's still in the OP if you want to answer it without putting words in my mouth.
Several people have already given their opinions.
You're the only one that made it weird chose to be evasive
And you got owned with argumentative mirroring.
Rough showing.

"Woe is me"
I don't think that is the correct description. Kirby is definitely different. He has described himself as such. He mentioned Charlie Woerner having a significant impact on who he is as a man.
I think Kirby is a realist the past several years.
Football is hard.
Depth isn't what it used to be.
Welcome to NFL lite.

As I said, Kirby is a realist.
If that is soft, I would like to see the hard man who chooses to say that to the player's faces.
I would like to examine that hard man's life to see how hard he truly is.
Kirby demands excellence from the players. Every day. Every way.
If you doubt that, listen to practice and his bull horn.
Watch the players cry on the sideline when they feel that they left their teammates down (knowing how hard the entire team presses during the week).
You probably just missed this ^
I know you are just "asking questions". But you can listen to the leaked pregame and post-game speeches again.
They might be relevant to your line of questioning.

What do you think?
Were we beat up coming into the game?
Is any excuse wrong?

Yes, I think every team is beat up at this point.
Is any excuse wrong? Hmm...deep question...but no I think some excuses are legit in life. Helen keller for example

Now add having a week off prior to a team not having a week off.....

Do you think he is getting soft and do you think the excuse making can trickle down to the players?
I think he was just telling the truth. SEC parity and talent level is brutal. Look at Bama, TX, hell…everyone. Our RB and WR are banged up. Bolden out. Plus th #1 ranking is the KoD.
I don’t think it’s an excuse..I bet every other coach would say the same thing.

Saying that they’re tired could be a true statement it could be an excuse I think when he said it it was just him telling the truth. Still don’t think he should have said it

Basically saying, on average, we were more successful than Auburn yet still lost.
Turnovers and penalties baby
