I haven’t posted in a while but for you dawg fans who know me I wanted to let you know that after 6 years since my fathers illness he passed away a couple of weeks ago. My dad was a loyal DGD who loved UGA and went to more football games than anyone here. What most of you don’t know is I posted many threads from what he told me. Remember “he’s not ready?” Some of Those threads ignited great debates that were many pages long as my father knew his UGA team for over 50 years and knew his football. Many here agreed with his/my posts.
Thank you dad for being a loyal Dawg and I miss you dearly.
A toast to my dad. May he see future nattys from heaven

Sorry to hear that Dawgirl. We’re all a bunch of internet morons but behind the anonymity are mostly real people with families and loved ones too.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
RIP DGD.

Thank you. He was my hero and ensured that I be a dawg fan for life. I’d post a photo of him but with an iPad I can’t figure how to do it.

Our prayers go out to you and your family. Whenever you feel sad, go to one of his favorite places and thank him for all he did for you. He will embrace you.

Thank you It’s been a rough few weeks. I find myself thanking him for being a great father and I plan to get on the intercostal at sunrise on a boat to go fishing to remember him. As he said many times while we were fishing…..there’s no place to be than on the water at sunrise.
He was truly a wonderful father and a DGD.

Very sorry. Many of us got our love for UGA from a parent or share it with them to this day. These last years have bought my mom immense joy as she travels to almost every game and has for 20+ years now.
My day will also come to feel your loss. So glad you had the time together you did. Keep the joys you had close.

Sorry for your loss. I know what you’re going through. This place does have some decent people that helped me. Wish you the best.

You are in my prayers. I am very sorry for your loss.
At least you had a chance to say goodbye to your dad. I never had that opportunity when mine passed away

Sometimes on Sunday mornings in the spring we take our pontoon boat out on the lake and watch the sunrise and read Bible verses. We feel closer to God those times.

You've talked lovingly about "daddy" for many years here and while many people thought you were a troll, I believed you, and it's very clear you were very close and supporting and loving him until the very end. I hope my kid treats me as kind in my final years. I try to keep that in mind when he pisses me off.
I am sorry for your loss.

Hopefully talking Dawgs and watching games will bring you joy! I'm dreading this scenario but it's coming.
Ill say a Prayer for you and your family.

Thanks Rig. You were an a-hole at first but you came around. The loss of a father is a tough road to travel especially for daughters.

I had to test whether are not you were an actual woman. The only way to do that on the internet is to be an a-hole and see how they respond.
It was necessary.
