If we don't beat the shite out of Auburn, I'll start worrying

Seems like a bunch of Dawg fans are already there and already worrying that this season won't end well. Personally I'm not there yet and still going with "Spencer Rattler was on fire in the first half against us and the other 3 games were cupcake games." Rattler was 14-14 with three touchdowns last night and is playing like a Heisman finalist.

But if we don't beat the shite out of Auburn it will probably be time to lower expectations. Auburn had 160 yards of total offense when they put Holton Geringer at quarterback with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter yesterday.

A vintage Kirby Smart team would make the Auburn game one of those "take their will and make them never want to play us again." Our last two road openers were games like that – South Carolina 48-7 and Vanderbilt 62-0.

I guess we'll see what happens.

It’s a different team than we’ve grown used to. Given the injuries it will be a while before they gel. It takes 4 or 5 games before young guys start to figure out things. We aren’t going to beat the shite out of Barn. We should win as long as Beck keeps making safe throws and not turning over the ball. We’re going to continue feeling uncomfortable after games until all our starters are back and Beck settles in.

I dont think we beat the shite out of anyone in conference play (sans vandy) but I'll be surprised if we lose to auburn. They do not resemble a good football team. Hopefully yesterday was our team eeeever so slightly starting to put it's foot down on the gas a bit more. Once we get our injured studs back maybe we'll start entering shite beating territory again.

Four starters were out on offense, and UGA still had 28 points and over 300 yards of offense in the first half, and that was with losing a possession to a muffed punt.

The sky is not falling.

The second half against South Carolina was extremely encouraging. At one point in the fourth quarter, the total second-half yards was Georgia 250-something and South Carolina 20-something

We had three turnovers and still generated 582 yards of offense and something like 32 first downs. Auburn will have a hard time keeping up but I would love to break their will like we are used to seeing

You're a lil more optimistic than me. "Should" win, but ain't gonna be easy....

Maybe it’s just my knowledge of Auburn football so far this season. They look even worse on offense then we have at times while only gaining 230 yards of offense against California and 200 yards against Texas A&M. I get the tough road environment but we should see our boys focused and ready for this game.

I think Dawgs start slow again, 17-10 halftime, but depth will prevail in second half and Dawgs win 34-17. This is not yet a dominating team, given time and players getting well, they might get there. JMHO

The spread will likely be 18.5 or so.

I think we’ll cover that but not in a terribly satisfying manner.

Its amazing we have come so far that beating Auburn won’t be awesome, but merely kicking the shite out of them will be Mendoza line for not wanting to fire an assistant.

My personal feelings have a lot more to do with Auburn than us. They’re not good on offense at all. Their defense is solid. We are decisively better in every group v group matchup on the field save maybe 1 or 2 individual matchups

Their run Defense is awful, but they have really good pass Defense.

Conversely, they are good at running the ball and horrible at passing.

Which means Kirby will attempt to run the shite out of the ball and so will they. Couple that with the new play clock rules and this might be a 21-7 game
