Apparently, a Notre Dame big-wig donor bought up 600 of the tickets from their Alumni association and has now inflated/controlling the prices in the market.

The prices are said to continue to go up.

My source works directly for St****b.

They said buying these tickets are a shite show. Super pissed if true. I have friends who have bowed out due to the ticket price alone.

I paid $2,100 for the pair in lower level.

I could already tell you that. I check tickets daily considering I'm only an hour or so away. It jumped from 450 to 650 in one day.

Could be wrong, but I spoke directly to guy who helps manage the ticket exchange for them.

That's not how it works. He's not controlling anything.

The price humans are willing to pay for something controls what the prices are.

Eat shite, commie.

So he's price fixing 80,000 tickets because he owns 600? Everyone selling tickets is overpricing them because of this guy's 600?

Hmmm...you must be an economics major.

Out of a pool of 80k, you have to assume there are 40k that have no interest in selling.

So, the pool is reduced to 40k.

Of those 40k, alot would only be interested in selling if the tickets fetch more than $2k.

So there's really only about 25k tickets up for grabs.

For the vast majority of those, the transaction has already taken place.

So, until prices go over $2k, there is a limited number of tickets on the market.

If someone hoards 600 of those, it does make a difference.

Hey Jefferson & Squatch....

This is how it works dumbasses. ^^

You are either too young to understand or too dumb.
I am guessing the latter.

They aren't young or dumb, but they do pop off from time to time without thinking it through, which we're all guilty of.

Everybody calm down.

Right.

First off, if you know anything about college football and ND specifically, no one person bought up 600 of these tickets from the ND alumni.

Second off, it is IMPOSSIBLE (by definition) to sell a football game ticket for more than somebody is willing to voluntarily pay for it. So, "control" is out the window and doesn't apply.

Third off. You can't "inflate" prices. You can inflate or deflate the number of TICKETS.....and the price will decrease or increase accordingly. But, there are a set number of tickets, so just admit that you are a commie that hates freedom. Do it!

I understand the concept but still don't think 600 tickets is enough to restrict supply so much as to cause a major impact on prices. I read something that said the band gets 400 seats - just to put this into perspective.

Think about it...if ND announced tomorrow that they were releasing 600 extra tickets would the prices drop from $1,000 to $150? Demand for this game would suck those up immediately with little fluctuation on pricing.

What I think is driving this is the "once in a lifetime" theme that I've heard numerous times from friends that are willing to shell out large sums of money to go to this game.

Says the guy posting about the secret conspiracy of the ND booster who shelled out a small fortune to corner the market on UGA and ND tickets. The fricking JP Morgan of football tickets.

That must be the reason for the high prices. It obviously has nothing to do with this being a huge game that everyone wants to attend.

Stubhub has changed their layout since I last used them. It used to show the total number of tickets available for an event. I can't find it now. Any of you know how to see the total number currently for sale on stubhub right now?

ND has sold out every home game since the 1960's. Many ND fans have tried and failed their whole life to get tickets to a game. But one dude casually scooped up 600 tickets to the Georgia game somehow. So he can hold on to them and magically make people buy other people's tickets at higher prices instead of buying from his stash. Dip dap booby doop....diddle dee doo.
