Todd Gurley is signing with the #Falcons, per source. It’s a one-year deal for the 25-year-old running back.

Falcons official twitter says: WE GOT HIM! with someone's tweet "Let's Get Gurley" behind it

As a UGA fan I’m ecstatic
As a falcons fan I’m 100% meh
BUT not much at risk with a one year deal.

The Falcons have a Dawg now.
It has begun

I'm excited to see what he can do this year. Hopefully he proves he is still healthy enough to be a full time starter

As a panthers fan, not looking forward to facing him twice this next year

They'll be lucky to get 8 games out of him with that arthritic knee. $$$ pissed away in my opinion.

Sony Michel is in the same boat.

It's a one year deal...not much of a risk.
His knee is obviously a concern though.

I think with Ryan towards the end of his career and Julio in his Prime, I think there is a very short window to win anything of significance. This is a very low risk move but potentially very high reward if he were to somehow return to his superstar ability.

Rams took it on the chin.

If we ever even have football again

I'll actually watch this season.
If we have a season.
If we have a season.

I agree, but the Falcons didn’t sign him.
I guess at 1 year, 5 mil the risk isn’t that great. Except that if he can’t get 20 carries for 16 weeks we have Brian Hill as our starting back.

Short shelf life for a NFL RB's
One reason I would seriously consider taking a look at an XFL contract (if they ever allow it) if I was a highly recruited RB.

There is no downside to this deal. Anything beyond one year would have been risky but there will be no dead money down the road if Gurley really is done. I tend to think the Falcons won't get a whole lot from him this season but it was definitely worth a cheap one year flyer to find out.

I doubt it. I think we'll draft one to be the future starter. One of Hill, Ito, and Ollison won't be on the roster next season.

I don't think I want to imagine what this world will fall to if people don't have football in the fall.
