Parents going to folkston to get gas, apparently just south/southeast of Waycross is fine. Crazy how much difference a couple of miles can make

She say it’s about as bad as she could imagine.

Crazy amount of damage. Trees, houses, etc damaged everywhere. We got the strongest part (was supposed to hit ATL) then veered up 85. If you lived within 10 miles of the interstate, crazy arse wind.

People who live far outside the weathermen cone of uncertainty got hit hard. Others like me, dead center of the cone in Albany, were completely unscathed.

Leaving Bald Head Island this morning after being here for a week. Neighbor sent pictures of our house, two trees on the house and one on the cottage in the backyard. No way in or out of the neighborhood. Not looking forward to a few days of quality time with the ol’ farm boss. We’ve been told by Duke Power to expect to be without power until at least Wednesday, but my friend at Duke has said it will likely be a week or longer.

Warner Robins was pretty ho hum just a lot of rain at least at my house. My son is in Savannah and lost power so came home for the weekend yesterday. Calls me about 4pm near Metter on I 16 and said he was close to out of gas and every place he stopped was without power. I get the gas can and start heading his way. Then a big stretch with no cell service. I went to where he was and start back tracking. Trees down all over I 16 and it took a couple hours to go a few miles. I found him on the side of the road about 9:30. Half mile to Dublin and gas. Tough day but we both agreed compared to some we are still fortunate.

SC between Cola and the line got slammed. I just got cell coverage back and still no power….went out about 5:30 Friday morning hoping to get back today.

Was totally blind yesterday. Cycling generator to save food and keep things moving. Crazy as we didn’t expect it to be this bad.

Phones just started working in South Georgia. Candler, Emanuel, Toombs, Montgomery, Jeff Davis, and Wheeler Counties have trees down everywhere and almost 100% without power. Word is 2-3 weeks before power is restored. Gas supply is extremely low and what few gas stations are open, have lines backed up anywhere from a half mile to a mile. This part of Georgia has never experienced anything like this.

Yeah it's bad man. Most folks I know were under prepared due to the forecasts.

Unprecedented damage for that area for sure. Pine trees were not friendly to the power lines.

Just got power back in Lex SC. Hearing they had to replace a bunch of poles for the easement that feeds the back of my neighborhood. I can’t imagine what they’re dealing with in western NC.

I talked to a friend in Greenville and he said it’s as bad as he’s ever seen it. Multiple trees through houses….said a guy was killed on his street. Still no power.

The scope of this in E GA and western SC/NC is tough to comprehend.

I wish I knew how to post pics here but yeah, definitely devastation. Our area in the upstate, Spartanburg County, was hammered and no one is talking about it. They’re still pulling bodies out of flooded back yards in NC. Shits insane. We also may have another hurricane coming too.

Damn, where are you? I'm in the Savannah area and we got power back Saturday afternoon. Lost it around 2am on Friday

Headline from the NY Post was that there were bodies recovered from up in the trees.
