He wasn't productive when Bennett was in the lineup because Bennett threw a lot more between the hashmarks and Pickens played on the outside.

You imply that it is not possible for an X receiver to be effective between the hashmarks.

That kind of goes to the knock on Pickens that his route tree is limited in college (and the nfl doesnt like questionmarks in the first round).

Henry Ruggs went 12th overall last year and he is a one trick pony. Jalen Reagor went 21st overall and has the same problem. Pickens is more physically gifted by a mile than either of those two.

Well that kind of loses credibility for you. I dont think you know what 1 trick pony means.

Jalen Reagor

youtube 2019

He does everything that pickens does (post, slant, backshoulder and 50/50).

He also highlights underneath (swing passes, screens, and reverses). And punt returns (much quicker, faster, shiftier than Pickens). So.... a lot more than pickens.

Ruggs can attack the defense and score against all 3 levels.

youtube 2019 highlights

Faster than reagor (and pickens). Can house swing passes, reverses, and screens. Better on slants than pickens. And obviously the deep shots too.

You seem to equate speed (riggs) or shiftiness (reagor) as a 1 trick pony when it is not.
I never called pickens a 1 trick pony. But he excels at post, slant, and backshoulder/jump balls. I like his corner/fade against zone (very effective route against zone but i wouldnt call it elite).
Pickens is pedestrian on hitch, screen, reverse, dig. He is not the same as Riggs or Reagan. They definitely are not 1 trick ponies.

We'll be alright. I do believe he might have an opportunity to return by the season's end.

So you resorted to using some of the most worthless sources possible. Explains a lot, as if the worthless immediate insults didn’t already.

I honestly think people are forgetting how special Smith and Burton are. Any other contributors is icing on the cake. Losing Pickens is awful and a blow, but it doesn’t mean Daniels and Monken are broke...

Wasn’t he internally suspended for some locker room stuff last year?

I know in 2019 Kirby sat him for slacking a little on the field and one-handing balls unnecessarily. I think he had a few injuries in 2020.
