Nah, already got New Years plans and they don't involve driving to Jacksonville to watch our team come out and play uninspired football against our last bowl opponent.

My friends that live in Jacksonville aren't even staying in town for that game anymore. So, now, I don't even have the option of going (too poor to afford another balls out trip to Jacksonville, hence I needed the CFA to pan out).

Don't you live near jax? A lot of us live nowhere near that city. It's hard to warrant the travel expense to watch a carbon copy of last year's game.

Georgians across the board don't like to waste money on tickets if they don't feel there is going to be any sort of immediate return, be it in the form of a championship or some emotional, inspiring win. Look at the Braves and Falcons as well. We're a fickle population.

Actually, I don't think its a big deal. both teams are different this year, and we play 8 of the same opponents every year. Also, This game will be about the future. We will have 9 people starting on Offense and 10 on defense this game that will be back next year.

Pretty easy to float this bullshite out there when you live close to JAX. I don't really care if you think I am a bad fan because I don't wanna drive 5.5 hours to see this garbage matchup in lieu of my comfy couch, a fire, and a shite load of food and football.

By all means, enjoy the great city of Jacksonville. I love it but no one else does.

Plus, I have spent pretty much all my money on going to their other 12 games

Yea, my buddy who lives there is coming home too and has no desire to go watch the gator bowl and I don't blame him

I don't think that the majority of people are "boycotting the dawgs", rather they are boycotting the shite matchup that the bowl selection committee has bestowed upon us.

I get it we are 8-4, I am not going to bitch and moan about not going to a "better" bowl, but the fact of the matter is that we got shite on and have to play the same opponent as last year. The only incentive I can think of for anyone to attend that game would be to witness Bo Pelini act like a complete and utter psychopath for 60 minutes/ spontaneously-combust.

I doubt it and I was going to go to Atlanta. And I'll spend the holidays about 2 hours closer to Jacksonville than atl.

I don't have plans yet, but anything is better than buying tickets for this game.

i do live close to Jax.....my point with this thread was to try and put a slowdown on the meltdwon going on because we drew this bowl and everybody thinks we should fire CMR and the whole football staff because of it

...the biggest point for me...and what I was trying to say is...THE frickING SEASON IS NOT OVER YET....

If it was the gator bowl against any other opponent I'd go. If it was any other bowl game against nebraska I'd go. But I'm not driving 6 hours to a stadium I was in 2 months ago to play a team we beat handily 12 months ago. That is completely and utterly pointless. Ticket is $65, gas down there and back, 2 nights in a hotel, having to take 2 days off work, hitting a restaurant or 2 down there, alcohol/bar tab...it's just not worth it to me to spend the several hundred dollars that trip would cost.

Like I said it's not just the distance, it's everything combined. If it was the gator against Michigan I would go, or some other bowl against nebraska I'd go. But I'm not doing the exact same damn thing we did last year.
