Slanting the wrong way, lining up wrong, Dline hesitant. Osus OLine isn't that good but they absolutely massacred a confused Clemson d waiting on signs that either did not come or were wrong.

We did this to Spurrier in schotts masterpiece.

Ohio state lined up dudes in the slot with motion and suckered the safety out of position repeatedly.

Ohio state Dline came in to fuk shite up....and they did.

Why Clemson Dline didn't/couldn't do the same was slightly surprising.

Clemson tired to take away the QB run i stead of going after him more. Yet they still found themselves in mismatches with coverage. They should have learned from the B10 title game. Pressure him

I think losing their defensive captain due to a BS targetting call also affected them. There seemed to be a lot more problems directing traffic and getting lined up after he was out.

I also think there was something besides tylenol in whatever they shot Fields up with in the tent. A lot of what he was doing was simply undefendable.

Clemson looked like a HS JV team in pass coverage. Guys not picked up, out of position and could put hardly any pressure on the QB.

Given their ACC schedule this worked until last night.

I hope everyone is sitting down before reading this, but the ACC sucked again this year. 0-4 in bowls already with NC State behind at half and UNC likely to lose tonight too.

There is a complex interaction of factors that explain the outcome of any contest but in this case what I saw was tired banged up Clemson team that had played 11 games and did not have their OC, Tony Elliot, due to Covid vs a healthy hungry and confident Ohio St. team that had played 6 games.
Obviously there is the counterpoint that more games battle test a team and help refine both sides of the ball but teams have injuries in every game and frankly I think an experienced team like OSU has a decided advantage having much less risk of injury playing 5 fewer games than their opponents.

That all went out the window when Fields got his guts smashed out of his a-hole in the first half. Oh St also lost a few other starters throughout the game.

What Oh St did to Clemson last night, especially Fields, is impressive no matter how much you (or I) hate Oh St and/or Fields.

They proved they belong. They didn't just sneak past a battered Clemson team. They straight beat the shite out of them. Complete dominance the entire game, both sides of the ball, every position, they simply outplayed Clemson.

While I appreciate your perspective, you somewhat made my point. Fields was injured running up the middle in 1 half of play vs Clemson. What if Fields has been running like that in 5 additional games along with all of the rest of their players being exposed to potential injury? Football is a violent game and multiple players get hurt to some extent in every game.
Example: I'm sure Alabama would have loved to have had Waddle for the rest of the season if they had chosen to opt out of their game vs Tennessee.

If the game had been closer, your point would be more relevant. Remember that Oh St also was without Master Teague and their backup from Sprayberry High School ran all up and down on Clemson's mostly intact defense.

I have to say ... it is ridiculous that a team playing 7 games is going to play for a title against a team that played 12 games. From a wear and tear, injury standpoint, that is not a small advantage.

This, Clemson gave up 639 yards of total offense. They were trash last night. Clemson played a garbage ACC schedule, as pointed out by the ACC's bowl record, as well as Clemson's performance. The offense wasn't Clemson's problem, it was their defense. Makes you wonder if there wasn't some truth to the sign stealing claims.

They proved they belong.

Except they didn't. The Big Ten changed its own rules to get them to the Big Ten title game, which was how OSU got to the playoffs. If a Big Ten team was going to go legitimately, it should have been either Northwestern or Indiana.

Is it OSU's fault they didn't play the requisite number of games? No, but that shouldn't change the fact that they shouldn't have been there.

Indiana played today without B1g logo as a, no disrespect intended, frick you to the conference.

Their prior ad went off about it.
